This isn't a new topic, but I'm new to the ball world and all the links in the old ones are dead now. I'm trying to find risers with a little pull back that won't hit the fairing and won't require new cables. Has anyone used the pivoting ones that are adjustable?

I have Aeromach risers on my bike, I think people put Harley "deuce" risers on Valkyries too...

I put HD Duece takeoff risers on my IS, and my 97.
Bought on eBay.
Didn't change cables.
I believe 2"" up and back.
Worked well for me.

I too also want to do this, and was also going to post soon and have this answered. I always seem to be leaning forward.

I've researched it in the past, seems the duece risers is what I want, but no one has listed which ones. A model, a link, anything. When I search duece, I get multiple options. I would like to know which one.

I also have an IS, and don't want to have to buy new cables.

The Deuce Risers (HD or knock offs) are 5.5" rise, where 4 - 4 1/4" require no mods (other than maybe turning aorund the plastic wire clips on the back of the handlebars (180 degrees).

I think Deuce knockoffs are as good as (and maybe the same as) HD Duece risers.

They require you to 1) grind the dome off the bottoms (to flat), 2) either drill out your trees just a few thousandths of material (and you could always go back to metric riser bolts if you wanted to no problem), or buy riser conversion bolts, metric to SAE.   http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/LA_Chopper_Barons_Handlebar_Risers_Mounting_Bolt_p/lac-risers-studs.htm

And 3), you have to reroute your throttle cables to inside the triple tree.  And std/tourer drivers may want to convert to interstate throttle housings (which provide just a tad more stretch).  And you will still need to check to be sure you have no stretch or bind going lock to lock when finished.

Deuce risers:

Sure cheaper than the AeroMach 4" for honda.  (but not stronger)

I wear 33" shirt sleeves.  I have the deuce 5.5" on one interstate, and the Aeromach 4" on the other.  Both are good.  I prefer the Aeromach for hard performance riding in the mountains.  I prefer the Deuce risers for kicked back cruising with feet up on the hwy pegs.  Note, the Deuce at full lock, bring the bar grips around somewhat close to your thighs.  No one rides at full lock; you might do full lock in a very slow tight turn.

Thank you VERY much Jess for all that. Gives me something to work on.

Had forgotten about the SAE/Metric bolt hole size.
