Yes we all know THEY think different but where does the qualifications to be president state you must release your tax returns? Nowhere. What are these idiots thinking other than they “might” potentially find something to hold over Trump?just because every POTUS has for 40 years doesnt mean a damn thing. It is NOT a requirement of the position.

BTW I think Trump will win this lawsuit. And they all can go pound sand. I could care less how mich the POTUS makes legally. But I do care how much all these congressmen make illegally.

Can't read it cuz they want me to turn off my ad-blocker which I'm not about to do. I'll wait until it comes out in a movie titled "Fools rush in."  Wink

If CA won't print ballots that include the candidates of both major parties why should any of their electoral votes be counted?

John they are basically passing a law saying he has to release his tax returns to be able to have a spot on the Cali Ticket. They will try to defeat him anyway they can. Sad thing is they have to try and stoop to this to think they have a shot at ousting him.   Load up on ammo and vote.

My opinion here is based on the fact that I once stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once.

Not sure how the Cali law reads.

If the law requires tax returns from all local, county and state candidates, they may win. Technically the States vote for Electors so the State will probably be limited to the tax records of the electors. But if they can show that the law is applying to all Candidates on a California ballot, even I would consider it to be a state issue. But it would have to be required of EVERY candidate on a California ballot.

If the proposed law is strictly to seek the returns of Presidential candidates, then they will certainly lose. It is a Federal Office. Such a law would be a requirement to hold office and that does not exist in the Constitution.

It won't matter if they don't let him on their primary ballot... it's not like
the California primary would help any Republican get to the general election, so it would
kind of be like a no-op. Trump will probably be the Republican nominee, and even
people from California would get to vote for him at that point...

They tried a similar thing when Jerry Brown was governor, and he vetoed it,
he said:

First, it may not be constitutional. Second, it sets a ‘slippery slope’ precedent.
Today we require tax returns, but what would be next? Five years of health
records? A certified birth certificate? High school report cards? And will
these requirements vary depending on which political party is in power?
A qualified candidate’s ability to appear on the ballot is fundamental to
our democratic system. For that reason, I hesitate to start down a road that
well might lead to an ever escalating set of differing state requirements for
presidential candidates.

It's all part of the big picture to keep pressure on so that this president wastes time.

There will be something else in the next week or so.

If all this time and energy was spent actually DOING something to make the country improve jsut imagine what could be accomplished.

This sounds like it could amount to the federal crime of obstruction of justice.

That particular crime is complete with an intended attempt (with acts in furtherance), it need not actually result in an obstruction.

Moon exactly the requirements to be POTUS does not state they have to
Release tax returns. As I said before I dont give two good $HITS to what the POTUS makes in his private life as long as he is not using the office to sway that earning. And we all know the current POTUS has made more than any of us will ever see in the private sector.

I don't have a bit of a problem with the birth certificate part. One of the qualifications is US citizen.
