Where do I buy a rear tire for my Valkyrie now? Seems really hard to find compared the last few times. I'll take most anything except a Shinko Journey. I'll even take a Shinko 777 they're pretty good but I'm thinking they don't make that model for a valkyrie.

I always shop Amazon first (which is always free shipping even without Prime), then look around to see if I can beat it.

The internet is sneaking taxes in on us everywhere though.  (it's a disease)

Last time I needed a front (car tires on back), I discovered that all bike tires went up a good $30-40 from what I was used to seeing.

Those are my go-to places for tires as well. I check Bike Bandit too.

EDIT: Do not try BikeBandit any more. Lots of scandal due to a shady collapse of the company while still taking customer's cash.

I quit changing my own tires after wrestling a couple of the low profile tires off
my 1800... I quit on the 1500 too... I considered all the local alternatives and
now I bring my wheels to the local Suzuki shop and pay $20 or so  more
than on-line... I like doing business there, quick, competent, and and they
have to make some profit... Amazon seems like a good on-line place these
days... since I quit doing it myself it seems that Jake Wilson has changed
in a bad way...

Let us know how the Bridgestone tire works out.  - I am not a darkside guy, so I am wondering what my next set of tires will be.

I've run a couple of bridgestones on the front before and they were fine. I hope for the same performance for a rear tire. I'll let you know if that's not the case.

For MC tires probably 90% of the time I find the best price on RMATV.  Jake Wilson was owned by RMATV (the websites looked very similar), they were just the "street" brand where RMATV's website was offroad. They merged them a year or two ago- jakewilson redirects you to RMATV, but their tire pricing still seems pretty on point.

I use Revzilla and Dennis Kirk occasionaly as well.  Revzilla gets tires to me next day on standard shipping as they have a warehouse in Texas, so that's a nice bonus. Order by like 4pm and it's on my doorstep literally within 24 hours. Either will price-match, but honestly over a couple dollars I usually can't be bothered to call and jump through the hoops. RZ's customer service is also far and away the best out there. I've had to deal with DK's customer service a couple times and it was always clearly to an outsourced call center that knew absolutely nothing about the products they sold.

I'm still running my Austone on the back, but have a Shinko Journey on the front I've been quite happy with. Far better handling than the D404 I had before, nicer ride from the radial construction, and it's wearing well also. For the price I'd certainly run one again.

I was poking around on RevZilla and Dennis Kirk both of which I have bought other things from but I didn't see a rear tire I wanted for my Valkyrie this time.

Rocky Mt. (Jake Wilson) is where I got my Avon Cobra's on sale. Now they aren't a option anymore, I will being going back to the 701/703 Bridgestone Exedra's as the Avon Chrome are too expensive and can't honestly say the Cobra's are any better than Exedra's for my style of riding. These folk are my usual go to but... http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/

Tires are hard to find these days so in case anyone is looking Chaparral has the Bridgestone rear tires in stock for about $185. I recently ordered one on a Friday and it was delivered Monday. Very pleased with their service and price.

As off right now Rocky Mountain has stock oem 702 Exedra. I have very good wear with them @ 12,000 unlike the Cobra @ 10,000. Try using balance beads for max wear but your throttle hand will have the most to do with that.  cooldude
