I've been running on Avons for years.  I even wore out a few sets of the old Venoms, which preceded the Cobras.  Their latest model, the Cobra Chrome, replaced the older Cobra a year or so ago.  Does anyone have experience with these?  I noticed that the price is higher, so apparently Avon believes they are better!

I just installed a set of cobra chrome. I hope they hold up better than the old cobras.
I stick with avons for the wet and dry handling, and lack of noise. So far nothing is giving me the milage I got from the old venoms.

I have been running Avon Cobras for years .  Just put on the new Cobra chrome on the front . After  a 1200 mile trip I'm happy. Smiley

Another good review for the new chrome tires.
Quite, smooth and very responsive!

Avon has never disappointed me.

Been thru many Venoms and Cobras and now have about 1000 miles on a set of Chromes on my IS. I will be putting them on 97 as well.

I put a set on before leaving for Taos.  The bike now has 4500 miles on the new tires.  I feel like they hold the road better.  Comfort wise they feel the same as the Cobras.  The biggest difference is the cost between the Cobras and the Chrome tires.

Just tested my new set. Have to say I just might like them compared to cobras. No harsh maneuvers, just a evening cruise. Smoother and quieter.

Put a pair on my 98 Valkyrie Standard... Smiley
Whoow, what a difference to the previous Cobra!!! cooldude
The "old" ones almost "fell" into curves whereas the Cobra is more controllable and responds smoothly to my "orders"...
And believe me, I have now great faith in its behavior on wet roads - I rode miles and miles through
"rainy" Tuscany in Italy, incl. a massive thunderstorm...
Pricewise: OK, it is dearer but worth every cent...

I have to agree, I easily got over 20K miles from a Venom on the front.  One even exceeded 25K.

It's good to hear the positive reviews on the new Chromes.  The price increase was significant and I was wondering if the new version is worth the extra money.  I also have an F6B and a set of Chromes will cost me an extra $100+ over the OEM Bridgestones, which aren't bad tires at all.
