Haven't been to Bok Tower & Gardens since I was a kid & since it was a nice little ride {110 miles} we headed south. Tried to stay off the well traveled roads as much as possible. At the intersection of 33 & US27 near I-4 was the Lakeland Ford parts depot that I receive most of the stock that I sell everyday at work. I had never seen it before & stopped by to check it out. No other markings to identify it other than what's in the pic.
After paying at the front gate a winding road through the orange groves to get to the tower & gardens.
As we meandered through the garden part stocked with lots of native Florida flora & fauna, a stop at the Pinewood Estate all decked out for Christmas.

After Kim swiped a tangerine for a mid-day snack

we continued on to the tower itself.

That tower is huge! Plays carillon music on the hour then longer sets at 1 & 3 pm. It's made from coquina shell & Georgia marble. Impressive!
Doing my "Captain Morgan" on the south lawn of the tower grounds.

Fed the swans & Koi in the moat.

Kim almost stepped on this guy on the way back to the bikes.
Florida is not completely flat! The park is located on "Iron Mountain" at 298 ft. above sea level it is the highest point on peninsula Florida. Nice view.

We had a good time as the weather was perfect. 80 and sunny... a typical Florida late fall day!
