Ok, so I was totally confused by the whole discussion regarding Serk's new states ridden.  Maybe Google is routing each of us differently.

Well, I can tell you absolutely for sure I will not be traversing any new states to get there.   Cheesy

That wasn't much help, eh?  Ok, let's try this... Meathead's WAG was incorrect.  Perhaps he was close, perhaps not close at all.  But, I will tell you that the location under consideration is less than 300 miles from Meathead's incorrect WAG. (As the crow flies.)

Within 300 miles of Charleston, WV, as the crow flies, superimposed (ROUGHLY!) over the earlier Serkle, gives us something like this:

Which basically knocks out northern Michigan, and, IMHO, leaves us one of the southern 2 guesses in my earlier WAG map:

I can confirm that the probable site is within this Serkle.  Oh, and it's not in Illinois.

While there are some other possibilities to consider:

1) A 20th Anniversary could and maybe should be held where it all started.

2) Greenville, SC certainly has facilities that can accommodate an Inzane as well as Charlotte, NC.

I'm still leaning towards somewhere in the North GA mountains.  Smiley

I'm sticking to my WAG of Charlotte. That, for a couple reasons: 1) would give me a nice road trip from Wisconsin...assuming I can get my dog sled and team harbored for the summer, and 2) close enough so I can visit some friends in both ends of N.C.

I cleaned up the Serkle a bit, enlarged it, etc... I don't think I materially changed anything. I am glad to see downtown Atlanta is still an option!

Carl previously posted that it was not within 50 miles of Detroit.  So, essentially Michigan is eliminated.

Another post by me essentially eliminated Pennsylvania.

Probably a query too far just yet but..... If staff are feeling generous, the state that the possible location resides in, which side did they fight for in The War of Yankee Aggression?

Careful with what you assume.  I have ancestors that were residents of Arkansas during the War Between the States.  We knew they served.  My brother's research revealed they were members of a Union army and never left the state of Arkansas.

Regarding the site being pursued, there were members of that state that definitely participated in the War Between the States.

I would have liked to have gone back to Zanesville.  Unfortunately, I was unable to locate a suitable venue.  The hotel we used for IZ1-3 is totally trashed.

Until a contract is signed it's not actually the location.   Smiley

I can tell you that within this thread one person guessed correctly although he wasn't very specific with the actual location being considered.   Smiley

Oh, and it is between two bodies of water, the larger not being that into which the smaller flows.

Alabama....nope, too hot. It's no better than Georgia that time of year.

I agree with your Alabama assessment.
Haters 2funny 2funny

Gadsden, AL is about 4F warmer in JUN than Roanoke, VA (according to climatology).

If AL is too hot at avg. high of 87F in JUN, and Roanoke is not too hot at 84F, that will help us trim the "Serkle" --- we just need to find areas within that swath that fits a climo that is 85F or cooler.   Smiley

I will probably do the trip to Gadsden a different time --- looks pretty awesome to me.

I know it's unsolicited, but I can imagine it's hard to take all these things into account on your own, so I'll keep trying to find a new suggestion within those defined bounds every few weeks or so until it's determined where we're going.

I must say I've ridden North Central / North AL in early June and it could warm up to mid 80's by 3 pm but cool down nice. It's not bad at all. Leeds, AL with Barbers Motorsports a must visit then with Cheha State Park close by. Nice roads north to Anniston, Gadsden, Ft. Payne, and over to Scottsboro and back. All pretty close to TN & GA line with lots of good rides and nice roads with little traffic. Not to mention Great folks and food, so I don't think anyone would be disappointed. There is a lack of twisties but good riding none the less. It would be a good site for InZane IMHO.  coolsmiley

Not much of a hint I'm thinking. Based on the bodies of water comment, still could be between the Mississippi and Atlantic which is generally where most of the guesses have been....such as Charlotte. The Big Muddy doesn't flow into the Atlantic so it meets that criteria. Checking Google maps, it appears Gadsden and Charlotte are close to the same mileage if I take the ferry across Lake Michigan...which would give me a chance to visit a former daughter-in-law in the Lansing, MI area and a cousin in Midland. Kinda fun to dream a bit.  Smiley
