There was a fellow in Canada that sold stainless steel covers that slipped over the rubber boots between the carbs and the cylinder heads on the intakes on eBay. I have searches and can no longer find the item or him. Does anyone have contact info or know where to find them. Thanks.

If you're asking what I think you're asking, you can go down to Lowes and get chrome bathroom DWV plumbing pipes that are exactly the right size... Some of the most chromular Valkyries I've seen have them...

Glad I read this thread! Good stuff! But if you’re still interested, I know I see his stuff on ebay all the time. I had his covers on my first interstate. They did start to tarnish after a couple of years. Took on a yellowish tint. I’ll have to try to remember the Lowe’s conversation and see if I can come up with a set.

Mike, what does “DWV” stand for so I know what I’m asking for? Thanks Drain-Waste-Vent... just plain old chrome bathroom sink drain pipes... there's one size that's perfect for putting at the top of the Valkyrie's intake runners... I guess you cut off a little piece of the pipe and leave the un-cut end where it shows... Perhaps that means you have to get three pieces of the pipe? -Mike "never done it, just seen the result..."

as far as I know, I came up with the chrome drain pipe, back '00. so mine have been on that long and still look new. but don't know if the quality is the same today. I don't remember if I used 1 1/2" or 1 1/4" but just make sure its thin wall tubing. look for chrome tail piece https://www.homedepot.com/b/Plumbing/N-5yc1vZbqewZ12kx/Ntk-ProductInfoMatch/Ntt-chrome%2Btailpiece?NCNI-5

Sounds like your setup is even better than the one’s I got from Canada on ebay. Thanks for posting the photos.

Rattlebars, when they were in business, had chrome covers for the intake boots, called “tube toppers” and ones for the rubber isolators on the turn signal stems called “turn stylers”. I have a set of the turn stylers that are new that I haven’t gotten around to installing (since 2000). I know I bought a set of the tube toppers too and may have a set somewhere in the attic with my other spare parts. It’s way too hot to check. I think your best bet is to make a set of the homemade version.

And I have a set of the Tube Toppers new in packaging which were never installed. Funny how we amass a collection of goodies...
