Is there any chrome emblem that can be placed on the side covers to dress them up?  I don't want to pay $200+ dollars to have them chromed.
Thanks

It all depends on what look you want.

Your local PepBoys, Advance Auto or the like have some self adhesive chrome stuff you can use in a pinch.....

EDIT -  I recall seeing some dress up chrome stuff at Wally World as well....

Why would anyone shave a cow like that?

I would think that the chrome Valkyrie emblem on the earlier models would look cool.  I have seen them on the triple trees and stuff......I KNOW somebody has some pictures they can post.  If I remember right, they were only on the first year or two of the bike.

Sorry, you can't have my dragons - they came with the sidecovers when I got them from Psychotic Bovine and I have never taken them off.  Amazing how a sidebar in the chat room can change the looks of your bike forever.  Started with me talking to Mad6guns who just happened to have PB on the phone.....a week later, Traveler was changed.

I put these on the side covers. Got 'em off of Flea-bay. They come as a LH/RH set.

I put one of the Honda Valk emblems I got from HDL on the backrest plate. Paid about $30 for it I think.
You can mostly see it in this pic.

Friend of mine with a Magna found some chrome letters & numbers
at Auto Zone and put them on his home made backrest plate. Looks
purty darn good! He put "V4", natcherly we'd need "F6". I think he
said they were $1 apiece.

I got some (plastic) chrome dragons for the sidecovers.  I have seen these in auto parts stores in a bit smaller sizes.  The buddy I got mine from ordered them from Hong Kong.  Cost me about $20

i've had the Honda emblem (from backrest) on my Valk since Spring of 98. Have them on Sherry's bike too.......i came up with that idea to fill in some of the space. you have to be very careful WHERE you put it on....as....the side cover has a curve to it...is NOT flat. that's why i chose the area i did.......

I got mine from this guy who is a member of our Delphi Valk Riders Forum.  Goes by DOC.  thewingdoctor@aol.com    (do believe they come in a left and right, so they can face the same way)

As I said, I have seen them in the identical shape but a smaller size in auto parts stores in the stick-on section.

Hey Mike.  Yeah I like them too, reminds me of those black boxer BMW paint jobs of the 50-70s, and sets it apart a bit from the many other fast-blacks out there.   The prior owner did it himself.  What I did not know for almost two years, since I rarely ride at night, is that they are reflective, so add visibility at night, especially from the side.

[Wow, sorry about the size]

Hey Big, no I don't know, the seat basket came with the bike.  I thought it might be Wayne'sWorld but just looked and it's not there.

Tundra (from FL) has a seat basket for a Valk solo in a thicker chome stock and we talked about it here a couple months ago, but I don't remember where he got his either.

I'll tell you something though, it mounts to the top shock bolts on each side, and adds difficulty to teardown for replacing shocks or rear tires.

Jess, it must be my dsl.  Looked at it last night and the red x was gone.  Now it's back along with someone else's pic.

I,  like many Valkyrie owners saw that naked side cover and knew it needed something.   My solution was a winter project 4 years ago.   Materials and chroming cost $100.00.   Time, about 12 - 15 hours of work.  I really didn't consider it work, it was fun.   Good luck.
