For only $100, you can forget about ever having someone tell you that your turn signal is “still on”. On a recent trip to Canada with a group of friends, all who were connected with bluetooth, one of the most common things to hear over the com was “check your turn signal”. Which meant, “hey you forgot to turn your signal off.....AGAIN!!! Pretty disconcerting when your the lead. Anyway, I realized that I never heard that when riding my Interstate, which already had the “Jersey Signal Boss” installed. So what was I waiting for? Why not install it on my ‘97 Tourer as well? So, I purchased and installed another signal boss on my other valk. Best hundred bucks I ever spent on it. Shoot, I spent $250 on that shiny chrome solo rack, and it does nothing for my safety. I posted this earlier but was severely reprimanded by a few VRCC identity nazis who didn’t like the fact that I revealed Jerseys “true identity”! Holy cow Batman! My bad!!! Anyway, all I can say is, he’s a top-notch designer and engineer, who is doing us a service by making this available for such a bargain basement price. Should you purchase one, you’re not only supporting a well-deserving valkyrie supporter, but you’re getting a rock-solid product to boot. You can not go wrong.

I've appreciated automatic cancelling on other bikes (although on occasion they had to be turned back on). With some exceptions, most of the time I've left them on is when I spend a while waiting to turn. You sit there waiting and looking for your chance to turn or the light to change and forget about them after you finally get to go. My remedy for this is that unless I need to be showing them for my own safety (from ahead or behind) or good courtesy to other drivers, I try to never leave them on if I'm just sitting waiting (or if I get stopped short in my turn, I turn them off). It's not like if you are sitting in a left turn lane in a line of cars that all have their signals on you need yours on too. I also often hand signal only, when that's safe. This cuts down on my Alzheimer's episodes. When you check your mirror, and the rider behind you is holding his left arm/palm out, opening and closing his fingers, it's the universal sign of the numb-nuts (and embarrassing). Especially if it's been two miles since you turned. My old Harley had the idiot light right at the very top of the fairing, and you couldn't miss it. On the Interstate in daylight, I just don't see it looking out ahead.

I get all your planning and intended execution, but I’ve experienced the “failure to terminate turn signal in a timely manner” issue enough times to know that it’s simply not acceptable to me to accept a signal failure. Not on a motorcycle. Anything that I can do to make my ride safer is worth $100. A false signal just has too many implications. No, for me, the Jersey Signal Boss is an upgrade well worth the money. I love my Valkyrie, but Honda didn’t do us any favors by not including auto cancel turn signals.

Nogrey, I agree with you (completely) on using Jersey's product.
I was just explaining my low no-tech workaround to a common problem.

My old Suzuki (1980-GS850) had self cancelling signals. Some how they were connected to the odometer. They would stay on while setting at a light or waiting to turn. It had a few accessories from the factory- self cancelling signals, fuel gage/trip meter/tank reserve and gear indicator.

I get you. I give myself an “F” for communicating. I read your solution. I realized that I’m beyond help without a little technology. I was riding home from the gas station the other day. Coming up on an intersection I could see a guy in a pickup truck wanting to pull out. I think he could tell I wasn’t slowing up to turn. Then he gave me that “look” and motioned his hand in that “blink, blink” fashion that tells you your turn signal is on. Oh, the look added the word “stupid” to the end of that sentence. I decided right then that I was ordering a Jersey Boss as soon as I got home. Now I don’t worry any more......well, at least about that.

Jersey's Signal Boss is Best safety mod I have installed. I have the "Back Off" brake light flasher as well. I also made a License Plate Holder from black acrylic to fit an LED light bar and wired it to my brake light...way more noticeable than just the stock brake light.

Plus 5 on the plastic plate holder and the led stop light. Also on the “back-off” led’s. I’ve got tons of lights on the front of my valks, but the rear has always been (in my opinion) way under-lit.

I installed LED hyperlites right after attending the second annual VOAi Montrose Ride-in. A guy named Larry from Illinois had them on his purple/pearl white Valkyrie (covered with wizard graphics). Riding behind him through town really made braking stand out. The ones I bought consist of two rows of 8 LEDs in a waterproof housing that mount in place of the red reflectors on the OEM license plate bracket. The wires route through the bolt holes for the reflectors and are held in place with double-sided tape. The hyperlites flash for about 5 seconds, then go solid red. Letting off the brakes then re-applying them will start the flashing sequence again. https://hyperlites.com/?product=u32-kitI had some LEDs burn out on my original lights after about 10 years and the entire unit was replaced free of charge. You can’t get any better customer service than that. I wonder if the Jersey signal boss would work with my setup. It would be great to have self-canceling turn signals...

Jersey's setup works with both Regular and LED bulbs. No hyper-flash with LED's and no resisters needed.
