Since we moved from NC last August, we haven't gotten a replacement primary care doctor yet. Nevertheless, we HAVE been following routines.

So, as part of new job, I needed to get an A1C check. My last one was a bit over 2 years ago, and at that time, was around 6.4-6.5. Went to the MinuteClinic and today's reading was 6.1. I've also lost 10-15 pounds since last summer, and none of my pants want to stay up anymore. BMI is also down.  cooldude

Hard to get primary care Doc's when you come into a new area.   Since we move back to OR in 2010 we have had 4 of them.  they keep leaving.   Hopefully will be able to keep the one we have now for a while.

I need a once a year check up to keep the med's I take coming.   MY  thyroid quit working some 25 years ago, so need to take meds to replace it's function.

Great news on losing your weight.  Don't get hung up on BMI's as they are not totally reliable.  I am 6'3" tall, waist 10" smaller than my chest and have a BMI of 28.
