Figured I would share my BONEHEAD moment with you all figure we could all use a laugh at well my expense    

This is what happens with a 800 pound bike when you take off and forget to undo the steering lock    uglystupid2 uglystupid2  









Ok you can all Laugh now   2funny 2funny  Oh of course did the usual jump up did anybody see LOL scraped my knee a bit but I will survive to fight another day!!!!


She gets paint in Febuary so it did not hurt to bad !!! Just my Ego  Roll Eyes

I think I used all the bad words I knew at the time and thought of a few new ones  tickedoff but I haved learned in the 20 plus years of ridng it is not how you fall but how you get back on !!!!

ouch! Sorry to hear. I never use the fork lock, maybe this is a good reason not to? Hope the knee and the valk heal up OK.

I did that twice on my 1100 Shadow.    Thankfully, it did not way 750 pounds, and I was a lot younger.   I had the lock that went on the front brake rotor.   Even had a sticker on my speedo that was to remind me to remove the lock, oh well, live and learn.

Been there too / first and last time / instant high-side / did it in a grocery store parking lot / been riding 50+ years and it was quite a surprise / pi$$ed me off so bad it made me review my start up routine

Yeah Highside is right LOL right in front of Walmart and like you at the time I was   tickedoff tickedoff but look back as a good lesson and think the torch will take the lock right off  2funny

 I have been riding 20 years and my Valk is my only set of wheels I have not had a car in 7 or 8 years!!!!

I always pull the front wheel straight as I mount the bike to avoid that experience.

I started to do that years ago on a Shadow but fortunately caught it before it took me down.

Well made it home today and took some sandpaper to the Scratch and well I need to get the right polishing tools but I think it might pass the 20 ft mark

That has got to be about as bad as locking up the front break while stopping from a slow turn, but I'm sure that none of us here has been guilt of that...JTL   Embarrassed
