Anyone have recommendations for a shipping company (or other means) to have some personal property shipped from Oahu, Hawaii to Ocala, FL?  Maybe something like FedEx Freight Box (they don’t service Hawaii)?

Not sure of the total weight or exact size yet but the current contents to be shipped pretty much fill a two car garage in boxes and multiple shelves.  Pretty easy to find shippers within the continental U.S but throw Hawaii into the mix and the price of poker goes up with limited players.

Probably be much less than a full trailer so maybe a partial load or with several  individual boxes - maybe 7’ x 7’ x 7’ to 10' x 10' x 10’ ?  Thinking maybe trying to hitch a ride in someone else's shipment that is not full if I could find something like that to share costs.

Anyway, any suggestions for companies or any other recommendations to make the transition would be greatly appreciated.  I don’t have many details yet but it will have to move out within a month or so.

TIA !!

Sell most of it and just move the 10% of stuff you really want/need/would have a hard time replacing?

LOL !!  NOT moving to Hawaii and not moving to Ocala (although I visit family quite often in Feb/Mar each year  cooldude ) Obtaining the personal "stuff" (collectibles) through a purchase and want to get it to Ocala cheap and fast.  Don't own it - yet.  NO, NOT a new-in-box Valkyrie !!!

Will look into a shipping container - thanks gordonv

With the above response, remember that they will be shipped over the ocean and it's wet. Containers are not air or water tight. Even if you may not need all the room, it might be best to purchase a whole container.

I believe there are small/med/large ones too. My sister-in-law used to handle them here in Vancouver BC, and I might be able to get some names for you, but local ones are what you need. I would go to different sources, think outside the box, not just shipping companies, but the users, like your local Dollar store.

Maybe share the container but finding someone or something more to add to an empty section. Maybe the cheap Valkyrie MC on the island. An old car, something that might have more value once it gets back onto the mainland, and can be sold to recover some of the cost.
