Wife and I drove up to the Suwannee river meet today, coming back the love bugs were so bad, had to stop in Dade city and spend an hour getting them off the car. Front was solid black with them. Worst case I have seen of them in years. Stopped 3 times coming back to get enough off the windshield to see.

Angry Hate those Love bugs! Not bad up this way in the pan-handle. We have had some bad years but it has been so hot and dry up this way we don't have issues with them..... yet!  coolsmiley

I hit them bad last weekend by the Saint Johns river, then again yesterday in Ocala. Hopefully ride somewhere more east today.

We have hundreds of dead ones outside our front door, and there are STILL hundreds of them flying around. Washed both the Valk and the Harley today,, and they ain't coming out again until they are ALL gone.

I hate those things!  So far, they haven't seemed to be too bad around East Lake Toho area.  Hopefully, they will be gone soon.

By far the worst I have seen them in years around here!
Also went to the Suwanee and by the time I got there the front of the truck and the windshield looked like I had installed black shag carpet on them.
At work they are all over everything! Tons of them flying and even more all over the shop floor.
At home they are all over the outside of the house and the cars and driveway.

If anyone has love bug updates it would be greatly appreciated. Have a weekend ride planned from Pinellas County to the Cove located in Inverness. I visited the cemetery in Bushnell last weekend and they were thicker than I ever remember. Definitely a ride breaker.

Doug, they are still thick as hell here in Homosassa, although the cooler mornings seem to be taking a toll.

It took me over an hour to remove the dead bugs off my fairing, pods, tank, helmet and saddle bags. I used hydrogen peroxide, let sit for 30 seconds and repeated it again they just wiped off, had to keep changing the shop rags after they filled with their guts. Drier sheets I feel take longer and smear their guts.

Doug, ScrewFlies are much thinner here in Homosassa today. I foresee a Harley ride to my Volunteer gig in Tampa on Monday.

Much appreciate the feedback, I'm going to postpone. I made a ride in the truck to North Ocala yesterday and ran into a wall of love bugs around  Webster/Bushnell and North of there. Two trips thu the carwash barely touched them.  I'll break out the hydrogen peroxide tonight before they eat thru the paint and leave permanent damage.  I will avoid them and wait them out.

Heading to N.E. Georgia in the morning to ride for a few days, return Thursday. Hopefully those buggers will be gone. I'm in need of some sandwiches and wings from The Cove.
