My right one has been leaking a while and was trying to hold out till my rake kit arrives. That will be another 30 to 40 days. Anyway pulled the right side down and found oil seal had been damaged I guess by someone attempt . All sliders and bushing bad both sides. The right side that wasn't leaking only had about 10 oz of oil in it. Before I rebuild them I had 3 1/4 on my forks and didn't take much to bottom out. Both stock springs was out of spec. Love the progressive springs I put 22 oz in the right one and 24 oz in the left one. I used ATF dexron/merc fluid. Rides so much better and now has 5 3/8 free play in the forks. Also found bad wheel bearing and I had ordered some new ones with dust seals. Had to replace brake pads due to the fork oil had soaked them. All is better now and rides like a new trike.

Sounds great... I wonder what 1800 progressive springs in a two wheel Valkyrie
would be like?

David, with you mentioning that you put 22 ounces in the right fork and 24 ounces in the left fork , I have to ask what air pressure do you have in the two rear tires.
I too ride a Trike.

I normally kept 24 psi in the rear tires and 38 in the front tire. I kept the front tire low because my shoulders didn't like the jolt very much when i would hit. Pothole.

I too had to change front brake pads due to the forks leaking. Make sure the rotors aren’t impregnated with oil. I had to use lots of brake cleaner and steel wool until they were clean. Brakes didn’t have any stopping power until the rotors got clean

Used a whole can of brake cleaner plus scrubbed them with dawn dishwater soap. Looked like a new rotor when I got threw. Once it hits the pads they are no longer any good. They sit in a bad spot when the seals decides to leak and fall right on the brake pads.

My thoughts, exactly!
Just may try that, at my next scheduled maintenance in mid-November.
