I believe Oss and I will do a two day ride coming and going.  The routes I found were pretty cool.  One way has us riding through Niagara Falls and then through southern Canada for a bit.  The other way, has us riding through Cleveland.  The second route is only 1 hour longer than the first, according to mapquest.  Each of these points is about half way along the route.  We can spend one of the ride night in Niagara Falls, which would be very nice, and the other ride night Cleveland and check out the Roch and Roll Hall of Fame.  We could also meet up with other riders to spend the night at any of these places and have a real nice time.

G-man and Oss,

You guys plan on crossing into MI from OH or Ont. CAN, ya need to give us a call.
I'll give you a few routes going northwest that will have you wondering why you haven't vacationed in MI before.

I don't have my route planned yet, but we'll be meeting my old high school / college buddy, Flat 6 in NC, somewhere between TX & NC - maybe Memphis? - and riding up from there.  Why don't y'all ride down to meet us and show us the way back?   Wink

...The other way, has us riding through Cleveland...

I live in NE Ohio about 50 miles from Cleveland. Because of this, I think I am qualified to ask...

Why would anyone purposefully want to go to Cleveland?!?!?  Wink

Hell, you might just as well come to Youngstown.  Shocked

My 2 cents....IF you take the Canada route and IF you cross the border into Michigan in Sarnia, do yourself a huge favor and try to cross EARLY in the morning or LATE at night.  I have seen lines coming into Michigan with a 4+ hour wait during peak travel times.  If you do decide to cross during the busy time be sure you have a full tank of gas and your "personal needs" are taken care of before reaching the bridge - there are no bathrooms or gas staton on the bridge (common questions from travelers)  I'm not saying it will be that busy if you cross then but, trust me, you don't want to take the chance and get caught in one of those messes.   cooldude

Stay tuned, Gman.  I bought a book the other day that has tons of interesting Michigan oddities and interesting places to check out, both in route, and around ground zero. I plan on posting some of them in the weeks and months ahead.   I am sure, any way you chose, you will enjoy it!

Ummmm...how much time do you have?  Roll Eyes There is a third route, of course (isn't there always another path?  Wink ). You could go north out of Niagara along Georgian Bay http://www.encyclopedia.com/video/LawHwqny10g-lake-huron-beach.aspx and hop along the ferries and islands via route 6  (or etc.) to 17 to Sault Ste Marie and down, . I know someone who did the circle tour out that way and can hook you up with them for info if you're interested.  uglystupid2
