Finally a reasonable approach to our climate and the falseness of the carbon policies and taxes that they want to put on industries, businesses and people. That we as the consumer ultimately pay for, that we could probably say that if Trump was not our president we would never have this come forward and be reveled.

Doesn't anyone get whats happening yet when we see school children terrified of some false report about our climate?

Its also not well known that the US is not the major polluter its actually China and yet we are getting the life sucked out of our pockets to pay for corrupt politicians relying on the false climate change stats that Gore established.

https://twitter.com/skidmarkymarkk/status/1176314194251173889/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1176314194251173889&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.zerohedge.com%2Fgeopolitical%2Fputin-shames-greta-thunberg-and-her-handlers-over-environmental-agenda

Putin summed it up:

"Go and explain to developing countries why they should continue living in poverty and not be like Sweden," he added, before saying that it was deplorable how some groups are using Thunberg to achieve their own goals.

The message was clear: “There is no climate emergency.”

https://clintel.nl/prominent-scientists-warn-un-secretary-general-guterres/

https://clintel.nl/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/ecd-press-briefing.pdf

A group of 500-some scientists and professionals signed on to the “European Climate Declaration” that was released last week. This simple, short, and understandable statement proposed how analysis of any public policy issue involving complex science should be approached from a reasoned, fact-based perspective.

Prominent scientists and professionals, led by the CLINTEL co-founder Guus Berkhout, has sent a registered letter to the Secretary-General of the UN, António Guterres. They warn the Secretary-General that “current climate policies pointlessly and grievously undermine the economic system, putting lives at risk in countries denied access to affordable, reliable electrical energy.”
They add: “We urge you to follow a climate policy based on sound science, realistic economics and genuine concern for those harmed by costly but unnecessary attempts at mitigation.”

there are extreme climate events on the way.  Humans have nothing to do with it. It is all about the Sun and the climate always has been caused by the Sun.
good read here.

They will keep spewing Vitriol about how we are causing it. All they have to do is look back at history, the climate changes all the time. Many times the planet has warmed and cooled this is the way Mother nature works.

Thanks for posting that.  Not only do the 500+ scientists dispute the climate alarmist narrative, but they also point out how devastating the leftist 'solutions' are for struggling people in developing nations.

Affordable energy is the single most important commodity on the planet.  Without it, civilization would collapse in a few days.  So many people have no idea how energy makes their lives immeasurably better, or how miserable they would be without it.

I have a 100 of these but here are just the first 30

1) There is “no real scientific proof” that the current warming is caused by the rise of greenhouse gases from man’s activity.
2) Man-made carbon dioxide emissions throughout human history constitute less than 0.00022 percent of the total naturally emitted from the mantle of the earth during geological history.

3) Warmer periods of the Earth’s history came around 800 years before rises in CO2 levels.

4) After World War II, there was a huge surge in recorded CO2 emissions but global temperatures fell for four decades after 1940.

5) Throughout the Earth’s history, temperatures have often been warmer than now and CO2 levels have often been higher – more than ten times as high.

6) Significant changes in climate have continually occurred throughout geologic time.

7) The 0.7C increase in the average global temperature over the last hundred years is entirely consistent with well-established, long-term, natural climate trends.
Cool The IPCC theory is driven by just 60 scientists and favourable reviewers not the 4,000 usually cited.

9) Leaked e-mails from British climate scientists – in a scandal known as “Climate-gate” - suggest that that has been manipulated to exaggerate global warming

10) A large body of scientific research suggests that the sun is responsible for the greater share of climate change during the past hundred years.

11) Politicians and activiists claim rising sea levels are a direct cause of global warming but sea levels rates have been increasing steadily since the last ice age 10,000 ago

12) Philip Stott, Emeritus Professor of Biogeography at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London says climate change is too complicated to be caused by just one factor, whether CO2 or clouds

13) Peter Lilley MP said last month that “fewer people in Britain than in any other country believe in the importance of global warming. That is despite the fact that our Government and our political class—predominantly—are more committed to it than their counterparts in any other country in the world”.

14) In pursuit of the global warming rhetoric, wind farms will do very little to nothing to reduce CO2 emissions

15) Professor Plimer, Professor of Geology and Earth Sciences at the University of Adelaide, stated that the idea of taking a single trace gas in the atmosphere, accusing it and finding it guilty of total responsibility for climate change, is an “absurdity”

16) A Harvard University astrophysicist and geophysicist, Willie Soon, said he is “embarrassed and puzzled” by the shallow science in papers that support the proposition that the earth faces a climate crisis caused by global warming.

17) The science of what determines the earth’s temperature is in fact far from settled or understood.

18) Despite activist concerns over CO2 levels, CO2 is a minor greenhouse gas, unlike water vapour which is tied to climate concerns, and which we can’t even pretend to control

19) A petition by scientists trying to tell the world that the political and media portrayal of global warming is false was put forward in the Heidelberg Appeal in 1992. Today, more than 4,000 signatories, including 72 Nobel Prize winners, from 106 countries have signed it.

20) It is claimed the average global temperature increased at a dangerously fast rate in the 20th century but the recent rate of average global temperature rise has been between 1 and 2 degrees C per century - within natural rates

21) Professor Zbigniew Jaworowski, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Central Laboratory for Radiological Protection in Warsaw, Poland says the earth’s temperature has more to do with cloud cover and water vapor than CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.

22) There is strong evidence from solar studies which suggests that the Earth’s current temperature stasis will be followed by climatic cooling over the next few decades

23) It is myth that receding glaciers are proof of global warming as glaciers have been receding and growing cyclically for many centuries

24) It is a falsehood that the earth’s poles are warming because that is natural variation and while the western Arctic may be getting somewhat warmer we also see that the Eastern Arctic and Greenland are getting colder

25) The IPCC claims climate driven “impacts on biodiversity are significant and of key relevance” but those claims are simply not supported by scientific research

26) The IPCC threat of climate change to the world’s species does not make sense as wild species are at least one million years old, which means they have all been through hundreds of climate cycles

27) Research goes strongly against claims that CO2-induced global warming would cause catastrophic disintegration of the Greenland and Antarctic Ice Sheets.

28) Despite activist concerns over CO2 levels, rising CO2 levels are our best hope of raising crop yields to feed an ever-growing population

29) The biggest climate change ever experienced on earth took place around 700 million years ago

30) The slight increase in temperature which has been observed since 1900 is entirely consistent with well-established, long-term natural climate cycles

Well, "global warming" wasn't selling, it just wasn't meeting expectations, so they had to rebrand it.

You bring up an interesting point.  If so many people actually believed our coastlines would be flooded an a few short years, who would buy beachfront property?  And what bank would sell 30 year mortgages on that property?  Based on their actions most people don't believe this hoax.

Obama said the beaches would be flooded by now but obviously he does not believe it because he just bought in Martha's Vinyard.

I understand it came with a $17 million price tag. Since the 'squad' and other democrat candidates claim we have only 11 years  left, thats some expensive living.

Gore has at least 3 homes, the last  purchased  a few years ago on the California coast for, I think,  $7 million.  He must really be concerned too.

I think we've done very well.  Our environment is vastly cleaner now than it has been for centuries.  Lakes and rivers that couldn't support life just a few decades ago are now thriving.  Life expectancy is higher than at any time in history.  Sadly the left is doing their best to reverse these gains, especially in cities like Los Angeles and Seattle.

For more reading from those who question Man Made Climate Crises, one could go to Watts Up With That web site.   They usually have some interesting reading on Climate and other topics.  Some of its over my head, but interesting reading.

                          http://wattsupwiththat.com/

One should try to look at both sides of all the issues.

I ain't saying we are completely irresponsible. What I'm saying is, we've done plenty of damage to our environment. We've built plenty of stuff in vulnerable areas and then expected the government to take care of us. As far as the left doing their best to reverse our gains, we will have to agree to disagree on that.

Of course!  Our massive, benevolent government never hurts the environment, and they're always there to save us poor serfs from ourselves!  But don't tell that to the Navajo Nation, or the farmers, ranchers and others living along the Animas and San Juan rivers in Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.

In 2015 an arrogant and inept EPA ignored warnings from mining experts and caused an environmental disaster.  They released 3 million gallons of waste water from the Gold King Mine into the into Animas River watershed in SW Colorado.  The waste was laden with tailings that included numerous heavy metals.  It turned the river turned orange for weeks.  Warnings were issued for people, pets, and livestock to avoid any contact with the water, and for water wells to be tested.

So how did our noble protectors react?  The EPA, fully aware of the risks, didn't even tell anyone downstream until a full day after the spill.  They also refused to pay a single damage claim.  Imagine if some greedy corporation had perpetrated this disaster!

But our government doesn't only 'help' people in the Four Corners region.  Thanks to the EPA we're forced to fuel our vehicles with corn ethanol, even though it provides no environmental benefit and can severely damage engines in boats, power equipment, and older vehicles of all types.  But the ethanol scam isn't our government's first venture into the fuel tampering business.  Remember MTBE?  In this area we used to be required to use fuel blended with MTBE, until it was discovered that the stuff had a knack for finding its way into aquifers.

Don't get me wrong, this zealous protection of citizens doesn't only occur here.  Virtually every nation on earth is spending zillions of taxpayer 'contributions' on the debatable goal of reducing atmospheric CO2 levels.  And which nation has done the best job?  The answer is:  none of the above!

Actually, in the USA carbon dioxide emissions are at levels not seen since the early 1990s.  That reduction is far larger than by any other nation.  But our government had nothing to do with it.  Thanks to private sector entrepreneurs who figured out how to extract hydrocarbons from tight shale formations, natural gas is now so cheap that it has displaced coal as the dominant fuel for electricity generation.  Compared to coal, natural gas produces 50% less carbon dioxide, and 90% less sulfur dioxide.  That's the major factor that made the USA the emissions reduction leader.

I've been telling people for yrs about this, since I read the initial preliminary report over 10yrs ago.
now it is final.
August 2, 2018

NEW YORK — A long-delayed report from the Environmental Protection Agency finds that requiring ethanol made from corn and soybeans to be part of the nation's gas supply is causing serious environmental harm.

It has been my premise, for many years now, that the "man made climate change" voices and advocates are only interested in one thing.  That one thing is control of you and I and what we do and when we do it.

Just look at the "big" climate change supporters.  Living in large houses (multiple homes), flying via private or chartered jet, no solar power for their homes, large vehicles, it goes on and on.

Control the energy you can use, you control the users of that energy, you and I.

So, natural gas has helped, but, like other things, it will have limits.  I have seen more and more support recently (last year or two) for nuclear power.  While its not carbon neutral its as good as solar and wind (given the power produced).

The other thing that bugs me is calling wind and solar "renewables".  There is nothing renewable about wind and solar, they exist and their existence (amount available for use for producing power) varies from day to day.

Climate powered.  No change in climate required.

I don’t know. I’m a far cry from a climatologist. But, isn’t wind the product of differentiation between a high pressure a low pressure ? If so, would this not be considered “change” ?

I will stand not so much corrected as interpreted in a twisting manner.  Climate as referenced in this discussion applies to such at the macro (general, widespread, long time directional) level.

To be precise, no macro change in climate required.     Wink

Ok, I vote for sticking with the term “renewables” in that case.  Wink

I'm willing to wager that some lunatic will blame Trump for the high and low pressure areas. After all shouldn't our pressure be a perfect 29.92 all the time.
