Had to update my voter registration since moving across the state and I couldn’t continue to be identified with the Democratic Party. So my wife and I are now registered Republicans. I’m not particularly proud of the performance of the Republican Party but the Democratic Party has gone bonkers.

The third Democrat to jump ship is Carroll Hubbard. He is a former Governor of Kentucky back when it wasn’t shameful to be a Democrat.

Whooda thunk you would have to be a Republican to be a rational Democrat. I arrived at that point a long time back. Saw the writing on the wall.

We all have to make choices in life.   This is a personal decision only you can make.

I was a registered Republican when I moved to KY but changed my political affiliation after the first election.   In KY, if you want to have a voice in most elections, the majority of choices are presented on the Democrat ballot.   So, I changed to become a Democrat.   That didn't change my conservative values or voting.   It just meant that I was able to vote for more issues and try to direct them the direction I preferred.   I know mine is only one vote but, it's my opportunity to make a minor difference.

I just moved to Mississippi and will continue to try and influence the outcome of elections with my vote, the Dems offer little that I agree with.  But, I hope to help direct any party to a more Conservative platform.   I know I can't change the party from the outside and can only make small waves from the inside but, it's my vote and even the smallest wave can grow.

That's o.k. - about half the republican politicians are democrats.
