The CEO says they've lost $250 million dollars last year, but the stocks have continued to rise. Can you imagine not caring  about losing that much money. Go figure! I know I haven't been back!

There are indeed other places to buy my weapons of choice. On the other hand those weapons he had destroyed were paid for by his company. I for one do Not agree with his actions BUT he is free to sell or Not sell what he in his own mind he deems appropriate or not. His stores his decision. I my self no longer have a desire to shop there. My MONEY MY Decision. Mayhaps His decision will come back and bite him in da butt! RIDE SAFE.

I go out of my way NOT to go there for ANYTHING!    Everything they have in their store, I can find somewhere else.    Dicks is a virtue-signalling bunch of  panty-waists!   I can't imagine their stock is up over this..... maybe some  2nd amendment hating /  all-guns-are-bad  type person will invest in that company so they too can virtue signal.  But if they keep losing like that,  they can't stay in business too much longer.

I'm reminded of a  small gun store I drove past a two years ago.  We were headed to Solo 1's  90th birthday and were on Hwy 30 heading east,  maybe 1 hour west of Fort Wayne...   this little mom and pop gun store had a huge sign out front that said,  "We have AR 15's.....We're NOT Dicks!"....

I love it!!  Would have stopped there if they were open.

I've never bothered going to any sports store that didn't sell guns.  That's half the fun of going, just looking at them all.

I used to walk through one of their stores because it was a shortcut from the parking garage to a local mall.  I never bought anything as their prices tended to be high.  Now, I'd never buy anything from them after reading about their decision to destroy brand new rifles.

Walmart made a similar stupid decision, to stop selling handgun ammo.  They're selling their existing stock, and at the local store there's still plenty on the shelves.  Could be that customers are taking their business elsewhere.

I suspect that he is not telling the truth on the destruction of the firearms.

If he had really done it he would have wanted the News folks there to record and broadcast it.

cabelas is nice to shop around especially their bargain cave in back usually.  a lot of their pricing is pretty high around me though we use to shop Gander Mountain a lot until they closed down and Gander Outdoors bought them out and they are going down the tubes NEVER have sales like the old Gander Mountain did years ago.

been in dicks sporting goods a few times cannot say I bought anything in there though unless you have a coupon or something their prices are pretty darn high as well.  am sure they get good business though from the yuppies and sissy's in nearby Madison WI.

Gander Mountain was bought out by Camping World and thus named Gander Outdoors. During the early months of Trump's presidency the CEO of Camping World, Marcus Lemon in a tift about Trump's immigration policy stated "conservatives weren't welcome in his stores". So I have abided by his wished. There are many other places I can and do buy my firearm related items. Like Dunnams,Rural King and a new store in Ft Wayne called Sportsman Warehouse...

AMEN Pappy

And as far as Ammo I have a local Dealer that has literally a million rounds plus on hand and no chain store can come close to His prices. Last year blazer had a ammo promo and had a sale with a rebate. Well my local dealer met the prices of all chain vendors (Academy,Cableas and others) plus gave 500 rounds of .22 with every case purchase. Wont buy anywhere else. I stop in every week and pick up a few hundred rounds.

I don't support any company that wants to re-write the 2nd amendment and there are quite a few. Their choice to run their business as they please, my choice to not do business with them. One of them makes a very popular beer here in WI and many are surprised I won't buy their products even though they they are really good about supporting local industries. I wish there was a Rural King closer than 65 miles away in a state that I will not register myself in to buy firearms, ammo or pellet guns (IL). The only thing I have recently bought at a Wally World was biodegradable clay pigeons when they were on sale below wholesale. They were the only source for DNR range approved clays near me up until a year ago. Other than rimfire and shotgun shells, I load most of my own ammo. So other than just browsing prices occasionally for super deals, I don't really shop the big box retail outfits for the shooting sports. And I am even pickier with my archery tackle.

I liked the fact this company started here in central NYS, but, I stopped going there years ago due to some of their policies. I just don't like that they cave to some pressures.

I was in the Kingsport, TN store Friday......there are  fully stocked  gun racks there. Doesn't look like any of theirs  were destroyed.  Personally I think it's all horse hockey.........like Col Potter would have said.

I too am beginning to wonder if they just put out the press release that they destroyed all the "scary guns"  and the entire mass media bought it.  Not many big-time news people would be  smart enough  to investigate further.   It was said earlier on this topic that IF they really did,  Dick's would provide photos/ videos.  In fact,  I'd guess  they would have the video playing on an endless loop on some  left-leaning news sights  of the stockpiles of guns or the actual destruction of the offending rifles and claiming it a victory for world peace or some crap......

I mean,  really - how many CEO's of a large company would willingly destroy a lot of money's worth of inventory?   Even for the virtue-signalling benefit,  they would think twice about the hit to the bottom line.   I'm guessing they are going to or did quietly sell off their remaining stock to another chain,    Dunhams or Cabella's,  maybe at a discount,  but  they will still claim they "destroyed" them all.

I'm going along with  "Horse Hocky"  on this one too.

They put one here in Waco a year or so ago. Just about the time they announced they would discontinue selling the AR. Never been in there and never will. I had heard of them before. And. Always considered them a Yankee or California place. My suspicions have been confirmed.
