Yes. it does.  The engine sits low enough for there to be room above it to store the hardtop.

That was just as impressive as the power sliding doors on my new-to-me 2005 Chrysler Town & Country!  Don't roll your eyes... our previous minivan had manual sliding doors.  And if I wanted to heat the seats, I had to do it with friction or internal chemistry; now I just flip a switch!  Now, if only I can fix the T&C so that when I push the button for driver 2 power seat memory, the mirror doesn't adjust to point at the sky or the ground.

Its one of the things that I really like about my Mercedes and it takes about 15 seconds to go from hardtop to open top.

This was quite a bit before my time as an auto mechanic but I understand these things were a total nightmare if they malfunctioned!
They had an enormous amount of solenoids and switches that had to work in sequence.

Notice on the video the front part of the trunk lid flips out and the front part of the roof flips under when retracted.
And visa versa the other way.

The Ford Skyliners were full size Fairlanes/Galaxies from '57-59. They were a huge PITA. The top was all electric with 7 motors, numerous crap to go along with that, 10 limit switches, 10 solenoids. We sold them and as a kid I had to get and keep those damn things working. Did I mention they were a PITA. The early T-birds were nice, pick off the top, set it somewhere and go for a ride. Still love the early birds. But then I still like the old Y-block motors.
