The heat has finally broken, didn't quite make it to 90 yesterday, and I was craving sushi and some Roquefort cheese, so I took Kaelynn (Kali's mini-me) on the Valk across town to Central Market for both...

Gorgeous dusk ride, and wonderful spending one on one time with my kiddos. The boys were jealous and wanted to go, but they don't do sushi, so it was their sister's turn for a ride...

The boys don't know what they're missing out on, but c'est la vie, their loss...

And unlike all the grocery stores near me, Central Market has several different varieties of actual Roquefort, not just "Generic American Made Blue Cheese", there is a BIG difference.... So I bought some of each type!

After we ate, it was a wonderful ride home just after dark.

Life hack tip btw - On those new fangled annoying gas pumps that play advertisements at you while you're just trying to get fuel, if you press the second to the top button on the right side of the display screen, most of the time that mutes 'em at least... I got to try that one out for the first time getting fuel on the way home.

No real purpose to this post, not an eloquent story of cross country adventures like our more well traveled members can compose, but wanted to share my brief bit of 2 wheeled joy in the middle of a very busy week with ya'll.....

Ride 'em when ya' can while ya' can!

I can relate somewhat, trying to please both twins at the same time is challenging. Triplets would be a whole new dimension I think. For me, girls would be a whole new dimension!

Whew ! For a minute there, I thought you were going to dip your sushi in Roquefort dressing.   Shocked (things are looking up here also, only 95* yesterday)

I think the buttons are different depending on the pump, but I'll try to remember
2nd from the top on the right for next time... I googled how to mute
them when they first showed up here. I never remember the sequence, but it was
a two button thing I found. Trying two-at-the-same-time at random will get you pretty easily
to maintenance mode on the pump  cooldude ...

One of the good things about my hearing getting worse. It's easy to tune them out. The other day I had my helmet on getting gas, I kept looking around thinking somebody was talking to me.  ???

If it's any consolation, it's 42 and raining this morning here in The Republic...

Last night I managed to squeeze in one more ride with a little one, took Brian Jr. to dinner at El Chico ($0.99 kid's meal night)

Arranged for my parents to meet us there and surprise him. Love making memories and getting the kiddos and their grandparents together as much as I can, one at a time is even better...

It is good to take the young ones out on the ride. My eldest never really liked to ride, the middle child would never want to stop and I had to strap the youngest to the sissy bar so that when he fell asleep back there he wouldn't fall off. Here in my little slice of paradise the rain continues to fall setting new records in total rain and devastating the local agricultural economy.

This is a picture from this spring but the Fox is at this level once again. While the temps may make it into the 50's next week, hopefully the riding season can continue for a while yet before that nasty white crap means I have to park the Ladies for a few months. Actually the snow isn't the issue, it's the salt they pour over the roads. I actually look forward to the first good snow so we can plant the fields around me with cagers that don't know how to pay attention while driving.  Evil

I here yah in WI and surrounding states all this rain the past few years.  I cannot remember a summer of drought season in a very long while having to mow my grass every week and if not cut,  could not get the push mower thru it if let it go 2 weeks in a row.  Just glad the grass has stopped growing with these COLDER temps into 30s for lows now,  sort of getting sick of going to my moms every few weeks as well doing her yard.

If that is your backyard cracker, I surely feel sorry for you had my sump pump fail one day when had 3-4 inches in one day and came home from work in the 90's to 2 inches of standing water my entire 46 foot basement floor.  When it rains hard for more than 1 hour or so,  my sump pump since live in low lying lands near a swampy area kicks on every 30 seconds all day long.    I have 2 backup sump pumps now just in case cannot not have a backup.

Serk your riding season here NOW, WI riding season and other northerners dwindling down for sure.  Was going to take scoot to work as I type this almost ready to leave but 33 degrees out (and potentially frosty spots on the road where I drive in the country valleys/couless, dipping down am sure to 30 degrees and fog, is a tad bit too cold for me to handle has to be 35 degrees on up for sure.

I have not turned the heat yet in the house but should since is ONLY 58 degrees inside waking up was nice and warm under the covers, but getting OUT of bed is an eye opener for sure.

Heat is GOOD!   Grin

this weekend will be spent cleaning up the garage and moving stuff around and oil changes, etc. to get ready for winter has been colder than I remember this year mid October vs. other prior recent years.

The weather's been so nice here, and since the kids and I have today off and mommy's been in Houston jumping out of airplanes all weekend, took 'em out to our land for some caveman TV last night.... Really needed that too!

(Guess I coulda added this to the "What are you drinking tonight" thread too, eh? Smiley )

Hot dogs roasted over an open fire are just so much better than just about any other preparation method!

I can't stand S'mores (The marshmallows.... Yuck) but the kids love 'em!

Didn't ride the Valk there, but I did wear my VRCC hat at least!

Kali finally had the chance to use her fire poi that we got her for her birthday.... (Sorry for the odd audio, but it's authentic at least!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWnRGSZCEoQ

All tuckered out and off to sleep in the loft of the cabin...

Anyway, sorry for the blog-like nature of the post, but wanted to share... Hope ya'll had a great weekend too!

Yes they are; so are sisters. That was Kaelynn asking about the S'mores, but it really coulda been any of them.

And yeah, they grow fast. The minutes drag on like years, but the years fly by like minutes.

But, I want to hear more about the "mommy jumping out of airplane" thing!!

That's the spousal unit's thing.... I've got motorcycles, guns, Renaissance festivals, scotch, computers for my expensive hobbies..... She jumps out of airplanes. She's a class B USPA licensed skydiver with 113 jumps under her belt, this past weekend she went down to Houston for a SiS Boogie (Sisters In Skydiving) and did several jumps.

She's also formed a competitive (But beginner level) 4 way formation team, the "FUP Ducks" They do 4 way formation flying in both skydiving competitions and wind tunnel competitions.

Haven't gotten the pics or videos yet, but did get this from an attempted 8 way jump they did that ended up being only a 7 way. Mommy's in the green helmet on the right:

(I did it once, enjoyed it but not for me. Kali's done it twice, loved it, wants to do it more, but the nearest drop zone that'll take under 18's is 500 miles away, and she couldn't afford it anyway.)

If you're bored, here's video of Tarynn riding some other guy a few weeks ago:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_muTr15Asg

And the video of Kali's first (tandem) jump, which we did on our way home from Roanoke Inzane:
