10-12

Folks:

Is the OEM fuel line size the same (~ 5/16") where it splits from the T to each of the carb fuel rails?

I'm installing a Dan-Marc fuel solenoid and have removed all the old lines; for the life of me, the internal diameter of the hoses going off the T look significantly larger than the main petcock line that feeds them.  It's definitely a different type of hose (the bike is new to me, I don't know for certain this is OEM).

I can squeeze the new 5/16" Gates fuel line onto the Dan-Marc barb fittings, but it's a relative no-go to the fuel rails.  I've read 3/8" will also work with hose clamps (which I'd use regardless).  However, before I lose my religion or damage the fuel rails - can someone confirm for me the 5/16" will fit?

As always, many thanks.

I believe the OEM lines are metric, larger than 5/16 and smaller than 3/8. People have used 5/16 successfully.

5/16th at the tap end of the hose (yet a little bigger at the actual tap) and 3/8 at the tee

I use 3/8th and hose clamps, easy enough to loosen the clamp at the tap then super easy to slide of and on

fuel line cut at the tap end and 3/8 to compare

Thanks!  Took your advice:  5/16" fuel line from the petcock and 3/8" off the T to the carbs.   Went on much easier - seemed secure with the hose clamps snugged up.  Will check for leaks once I get my petcock rebuilt and the tank reinstalled.  Thanks again!
