Product states it's for glass. I forget the brand I was using, but because it deposited a film on the windshield, grit stuck to the film and had to use plenty of water washing the windshield to avoid leaving tiny scratches on the surface from the grit particles, but it was amazing how the water beaded off the windshield.

I've always used a good wax on my bike paint, and my shields. (and my helmet visors)

Makes cleaning easier and less abrasive, bugs come off easier, and rain flows off better.  It may not be Rainex (for plastic) but it works pretty good.

I've used RainZip made by National Cycle for a few years and it works well.

The original RainX is for glass.  There is another RainX product for plastic.  I have used it and it works.  Bought it a Walmart.

Works a little too good in a down pour with a open face helmet.  Shocked Lucas Slick Mist is my usual go to shield protectant.

Plexis is great but has gone up in price. I use BikeSpirits. It's sold at any bike shop. Cheap and works great too.

Last time I bought it the Honda brand "spray polish" was only like $6 and it works awesome. Far as I can tell it's virtually identical to the Bike Spirits pink can spray polish, it looks, works, even smells identical, wouldn't be shocked if they make it for Honda in a different can.

Lucas Slickmist I've also had very good results with. Makes face shields much easier to clean and water streaks off well.

Plexus works well also, but I don't notice it's really any better than either of the above and it's like 6x the price.

Thanks everyone, I did not know there were that many products choose from.

Excellent info here, as always!

On a similar subject, I'd like to salute whichever oldtimer among us who posted that Hydrogen Peroxide mixed half-and-half with water in a small spray bottle will MELT bugs.

To whomever it was:

You, sir, are a frugal genius!

Buy the hydrogen peroxide that's sold in it's own spray bottle. If memory serves, the poster stated that minor detail.
