1st Place Street Kings National Cruiser Class

Phoenix

« on: October 14, 2019, 10:46:52 AM »

Well....... Friday a guy came from Safford to Phoenix (about 3 hour ride) to buy my F6B. He was very happy when he saw it and told me it was in better condition in person than what I told him.
I was sorry to see her go but I have been pushing the envelope for about 40+ years now. With all the texting drivers and the ones doing everything in their car but driving it, I just had to call it quits.
I can always rent a bike when on vacation if the want is there. Big city riding was getting too dangerous for me and with the wife unit on board, I had to make a tough decision.  Embarrassed
You all stay safe out there! cooldude

I can completely understand how you could reach that decision and have had similar thoughts myself. Honda's last so long that if you change your mind in a few years there will still be plenty of fine examples to pick up on the used market.

Understand how you feel Chuck, I was a bit skittish after getting hit on Friday and found I am double checking my mirrors more even when not turning lanes

People who enter the highway go straight to the left lane and slow down to have their conversations and or text are a real problem
Especially the ones in mercedes and bmw's

Wish I had a magic button to turn off their ignitions when I see them

damn near tboned a yuppie in madison pulling out in front of me this morning only like 30 feet on a side road me doing about 45 mph having to near lock them up I swear he never looked or if he did he did not care.  I was in my 1/2 ton truck though but still I blarred my horn for 20 seconds to piss him off while he putzed in front of me until I zipped by him past the roundabout heading into Madison.

If I was on 2 wheels I would zipped around him ASAP but with traffic??????? uglystupid2

We are all gonna have ta make THAT particular decision sooner or later. I'm at a point in my life while i Enjoy visiting my Brother and SIL the area they live in is a lot more crowded and folks are in a bigger hurry then they are here in Southern Missouri. Riding where my Brother lives is more like dodgem than riding. Course Springfield and West Plains Mo. Are far from perfect but more doable then the Windy City burbs.  Lips Sealed I Know fer a FACT I'm closer to gittin rid of my scooter then I ever have been. Older-diminishing skills and folks in cages that just do NOT care bout anyone but themselves. Even on an 800+ pound M/C you tangle with a cage you lose even if yer right. And I realize now I no longer bend like I used to-I break easier!  Undecided RIDE SAFE.
