I changed my glass packs to more restrictive baffle packs (quieter) this summer. My fuel mileage went to 25-27 from mid 30’s.
I changed out the intake o-rings and reset the pilot screws to 2 turns (that wasn’t easy).
I did have a vacuum leak on the rear left intake  that I repaired.
Results:
Today I rode 100 miles in ideal conditions.....55 degrees, no wind, constant 60 mph, non ethanol fuel.
I got 34.5 mpg.
My little backfire on deceleration is gone.
I am feeling pretty good about the results.
Thanks to those who offered insight. Appreciate it. Now I can put it away for a few months and not worry about it.
