The past week or so has been sketchy. It has been slow and painful to post and respond to posts. I wonder if the last 5 days have been archived?? This has happened in the past but this one is very odd with 5 days just gone!

OMG ! There was so much vital information posted here in the last 5 days. The nation, the Valkyrie, the world is at peril now. Members are going to leave because we lost 5 days of posts ? Heads will roll ? Come on guys ! This is a small motorcycle club, run by unpaid volunteers. Cut them a little slack. We will survive. (Now I've got to go rewrite all those brilliant posts I had that were lost)

Yep - several days of my posts gone and data lost. This kind of failure will cause folks to bail. Back when I was in IT heads would roll for this. No excuses - fill out this job application:
Wow, I hope you're kidding. You know, that McDonald's job would pay more than what the staff here makes.

I made a post previously about having to migrate servers. This is likely related to that. I don't know if the posts are gone permanently or not.

Wow, I hope you're kidding. You know, that McDonald's job would pay more than what the staff here makes.
Yeah I pulled my post. But you quoted so some is still here. Kneejerk, I was a little miffed cause I posted work I did I could refer to later but now can't. And referred that work to another so he could read and answer some tech questions regarding his previous posts in 2009, on tuning blower bikes. In fact most of my tech posts here amount to docs for me to search on later for reference when needed. Maybe I should just search and then save them locally. BTW what I said was true. At least in the IT world I lived in - AT&T and Sybase. If data was lost because of lost backups, and you were responsible as the SysAdmin - it was cause for dismissal. That data represented a great deal of money - created software from programmers, actual corporate data, quite valuable. No sense of humor there. The sysadmin is expected to implement a failsafe backup system strategy and procedures such that data loss is impossible. When I was there 20-30 years ago. BTW as I understand it, it's not your responsibility for data security but the folks running the servers, you hired. You pay them for that level of data security - more than a Micky-D's job (Like low 6 figures). IOW they dropped the ball. Right? JS. But I agree, mine was a bit over the top and I should have waited to hit the return key, after reflecting a bit. I used to get in trouble in the past with being too quick on emails. Sorry bout that and that's why I pulled it. But the above paragraph is true, in the IT world I was in. And I think generally.
