Ford vs Ferrari coming to the big screen 11-15-2019. I think it will be available on I Max screens. It's a must see for me as I have been awestruck since I first saw a GT-40. The 60's may have been the greatest decade for me and I feel blessed to have grown up at that time. Christian Bale, Matt Damon, and Jon Bernthal have the lead roles. Google it and you can watch a 2:29 minute trailer

Yep, I agree. I've had the great luck to have met Mr and Mrs Shelby as well as Ken Miles [ shortly before his death]. Great people. I called Shelby because I couldn't get a small block to make the power I thought it should make. For some odd reason luckily I ended talking with Mr Shelby and he explained the error of my ways. He asked where I was and then asked if it was near Watkins Glen. He said he would meet me at the Lodge there. They insisted I sit and eat and have a few drinks with them. We then went to his car and he gave a camshaft/lifters, pistons and an intake, They refused to take any money for these parts. They told me I was over cammed and over pistoned. That little 289 in the '65 cobra then produced 535 HP. Did I mention they were great people. Oh, I also got to spend that weekend helping them in the pits.
There is also an original GT40 in the area and its not a trailer queen, the fella drives it. Its all original and definitely looks it. That thing flat ass flies and is worth a large fortune.

Wasn't there a thread about this movie? I must be missing it.
Anyway, I went to see it last night. Fantastic movie, done very well. Great race scenes.
There's also a Netflix (I think) documentary about it. Very good also.....

Now, Internet huckster PT Barnham Musk will claim every thing he did in 1966 was better than Ford’s win!

Going to see it in about 3 hours from now at the "screamin' deal" $5 Wednesday matinee theatre just a bit down the road. A fine place to be on a cloudy, cold, almost-winter, midweek afternoon. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 98% view approval. Says that Damon and Bale turn in very good performances with excellent race scenes. GT40's were the sack.

I would agree and go one step further and state that I don’t usually agree with the reviewers. In this case, I liked the movie a lot. Rams

I believe the Netflix documentary Bob is referring to is "Shelby American" - a biography about Carroll Shelby and his early involvement with FMC during the 1960s. It follows Shelby's and Ford's parallel (and sometimes tumultuous) quests for wresting international racing dominance from Ferrari. It's worth a watch - contains a lot of vintage footage of the Shelby and GT40 projects. (I haven't seen the movie).

It was a great story to see before I saw the movie.

I saw the movie and it was great, I also watched the show on Motortrend and it had a lot information and here's another little bit to enjoy. I've been a big Shelby fan for years. Go see the movie. https://youtu.be/Wt29RmAvd7U
