To each their own, and it's a move up from the Bozo the Clown Victory, but that fairing looks like a  cyclopean vision of a 1980's Ford Pickup, and not in a complimentary way...

Beauty is always subjective..."in the eye of the beholder" as they say, but ya...that fairing on the new Indian really does a good job of negating what is otherwise a decent looking cycle. Just like the HD Roadglides, I've never been a fan of their fairings ....especially from the side view I've always thought they looked awkward and out of sync with the rest of the motorcyle.

But then I've probably been spoiled...18 years riding my Interstate which I think has one of the, if not the best looking fairings ever crafted for a larger touring motorcycle  Smiley

Have to agree with the consensus.   Gotta admit I kinda like the look from the cockpit view,  but when looking at the bike I as a bystander I don't like it at all.

They didn't set it to sport mode, so that might have been better. But the only weakness
of the Indian Springfield I rode a few weeks ago was the air-cooled potato potato motor.
Maybe this water-cooled Challenger motor is pretty nice? That Springfield was agile and
brimming with high quality.

"That Springfield was agile and brimming with high quality." - weakness?
I love the Springfield, compare the performance numbers to those of the Valkyrie, but light years ahead in quality. Water cooled version could be Real Cool...  coolsmiley ...

Showed this new Challenger to The Big - Haired Chick on her birthday (Devil's Night) expecting her to say "That 's cool..." ..But she echoed the "fugly" comments.

At first glance I thought it was the new Yamaha. Not sure about that fairing, looking from the curbside view.  Undecided

compare the performance numbers to those of the Valkyrie

It has the numbers, but it potato potatos down the road... I guess we could
all get used to it. Right now I'm remembering passing cars going uphill in
North Georgia with Carolyn on the back of the 1500 and hearing the sound
and feeling the power of the Valkyrie motor... the Springfield motor (in my short ride)
felt like it was made to sound and shake like a Harley, not in a faulty kind
of way, but on purpose... your Victory isn't like that is it?

Teaser video of the sound.  This is not the same pushrod engine of first generation of Indians.  It is an overhead cam engine, water cooled, that makes in stock form 122 hp and 128 tq.  Wheel dyno is about 109 hp and 113, tq.

Short feature video.  This has some hi tech features like smart lean technology.

This new Power Plus 108 motor was being developed for the new generation of Victorys to replace the 106.  Kudos to Indian for developing a higher revving OHC water cooled smooth motor  that will probably lead to huge engine hp and torque gains for very reasonable money like the 106 did.  Also the water cooled motor will meet the newer emissions rules.  The fixed fairing is something Indian did not have and they are now popular with the Harley Road Glide.  I personally like it, but of course not everyone's cup of tea.  I am certain that Indian ( they have said as much ) will also bring this motor to near future bikes like the Chieftain and Springfield, and eventually faze the 111/116 pushrod out. 20  Motorcycle writers got an advance 500 mile ride on these a couple weeks back, and have given it glowing reviews to date and one can find their reviews online.

I love my Vic Cross Country, but just may have to go for a new Indian in the next couple of years.  However my Hondas  -  Valkyrie, Magna, and newly acquired 19 PCX150 are not going anywhere.

If I were to buy another big bike it would be another real Indian. I've got a big thing for real Indians.
