My 1st tank of fuel in my standard after the attic Rat mods got me 50 miles. The amusement of accelerating onto the freeway on-ramps whilst wearing sunglasses and no ear plugs brought back the sounds of a Lotus 11 w/an alfa romeo motor my dad had years ago.Yes I got a great wind and sun burn. By the sound of everything with the open Viking exhaust was pretty good and the front wheel grazed the pavement in first which lasts about 2 seconds--the next gear is pretty short too and in third I realized his changes to the airbox-which he said are pretty restrictive-became apparent--it seems to inhale another yard of air compared to stock and the throttle seemed to go on for a long time vs stock. He installed some very nice new grips but a huge safety tip is the stock standard has very short clutch and front brake levers--he put on some very nice longer ones that completely changed riding the bike---from a 3 finger front brake grab that brought maybe a 50% braking to a 1 finger easy modulated brake lock-up--amazing. He put on a huge rear tire that looks like what the bike should have had in the first and adjusted my tire pressures and it handles like a dream. He put that new shifter bracket on--my seals were leaking badly which I hadn't noticed-re-painted my tank and waxed it all up. The previous carb rebuild in Dallas had 7 stripped screws he said and handed me a sack stuff that came off-pare valves and all--he to had to take the DYNA 3000 off--it's for sale if anyone is interested--I imagine the bike will hit 60 in the 3's and the quarter in the 11's---the higher compression motor is quite noticable at first start and idle--I have a spare Interstate tank I will put on to give me another 10 miles down the road if at speed on the race track-C.O.T.A. here I come!!!

I can't figure out if you're proud or upset that your MPGs are so low. I'm sure Mr. ARat would not be happy with those results.

oh I am  very happy with an 11 second range 1/4 mile...just slow down and with the higher compression motor it should get better  mileage I think--I have an Indian Chieftain, Suzuki GSX 650f and a VTX-1300 R if I want to go slow cooldude

I don't get this at all.. Bob did my Valk and my mileage improved from 35 to 38.  Yea, have to run 93 octane.  Love the performance.  Don't know about 11 sec qtr mile times, but then again, not with me in the seat.

which cams do u have?
for comparison.

the '97 valkyrie with R1 cams is 3.86 sec 0-60 mph and ran the 1/4 in 12.02.

'99 tourer 4.12 sec 0-60 mph  12.52 in 1/4.

both per motorcycle consumer news testing.
the rider they used was about 180lbs maybe lighter if I remember correctly.

I've posted before, going from 9.8 to 11.0 compression only picks up about 3 hp by itself, with supporting mods that number jumps up.  higher compression increases efficiency and therefore mpg.

I think some of the respondents are misunderstanding.  The specification of 10 mph and 50 miles per tank reported by rocketray is not a reflection upon the Attic Rat's mods so much as rocketray's exuberant use of the throttle resulting from the impact of the mods.

yes Willow is correct....my 2003 Zo6 Corvette EPA rated at some 28-32 mpg gets  3 miles to the gallon at the race track in Cresson Texas..I will do a 60 mph run on the valk and bet on 25 mpg---modified  and twisted throttle the Valkyrie is sucking a LOT more air and fuel  than stock...I am very impressed with his work cooldude
