Remember something from a post here bout taxes. I just paid my 2019 personal property tax. Broke ma heart to write that check-all $23.63. Not a misprint-TWENTY THREE DOLLARS AND SIXTY THREE CENTS. And as i sated that amount is for the entire year. AND it will go down a bit in 2020 as my vehicles will be a bit older in 2020 unless they change the levy. So fer you folks on the right or left coast or in Illinois-I'd say sorry bout dat But i KNOW you won't believe me!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

I have a friend who moved here from New Jersey several years ago.  He had a 3 bedroom home and paid $13,000 per year in NJ property taxes.  That was one of the reasons he left.

that was what I was thinking.  A cardboard box in a 6x6 foot area?

nothing wrong with cheap living.  It used to be that way some 20 years ago here, but not anymore.  Some say the fancy homes up the hill nearby me am sure 3 or 4x's mine are lowering the property taxes in town due to the fact their taxes going into the kitty to pay for all, but I think is just the opposity before we had these 500K homes or more going up years ago,  my taxes were much, much, much less per year.  I think the richer homes going up RAISE NOT LOWER my property taxes overinflating my house value/taxes, etc.

Right here in Willow Springs we have decent roads school buses hauling the kids to and fro. I KNOW our tornado early warning siren works as I live two blocks from one. Our major highways state wide need some work but overall not too shabby. My gasoline prices currently on the $2.20ish range. I've flown out of Springfield/Branson and St. Louis and either one beats Ohara all to heck and back but I prefer Springfield/Branson. I believe state wide we do Not have any toll roads yet But there is always talk of tolling some of the interstates. Oh something else I'd also like to mention. I Thought I had quick snow removal where I lived in Illinois. These snow removal crews here in Missouri could teach em a thing or three. I have no idea where Missouri ranks scholastically but both my Daughters Graduated here and both have good paying jobs. Tagging Phatt Ghurl and tagging my cage fer 2 years at a time do NOT break the bank. I believe my tax in stores-depends on which county and which city-average about 7.5%. Other areas near K C and St. Louis most likely a bit higher. Hope this helps some of Y'all bleeding tax money thru yer nose!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

The Fairfax County VA personal property tax on a 20yo Valk for 2019 was $51.73.

For my 2017 Ram Promaster 2500 $504.14. (at least you only pay sales tax once)

It goes down a little every year.  Except the bike went up, as they increased the rate per value.

How many live in a County with a 3 billion annual budget?

In VA, it's a county thing.  You do better in rural VA.

I cannot post what I think about this.

When 3Fan4Life and me traded my ST1300 for his Interstate, I found it rather telling - Texas has an exemption to taxes for a vehicle, if you trade "like value" there's zero tax to register the new vehicle....

Virginia had no such exemption for 3Fan.....

WI sales tax 5.5% beats Missouri 7.5%, got you beat, but that is the ONLY thing WI is cheaper living at probably... Cry

darn registration, titling etc. went up A TON  another 100 bucks to title a vehicle, that is NUTS!  Now a wheel tax of say around 20 - 40 bucks per vehicle as well never had that one before either.  The taxes on vehicles, trailers, etc. going up so high better improve our roads or go where it was designed to go since is lots more taxes on vehicles so the money should go to roads for the vehicles, right?  I bet all that extra money will go into the general kitty for idiots to spend foolishly.

I find it hard to believe your property taxes can be that low, why even bother collecting that piddly amount of money seems hardly worth the effort?

Cookie and others before we git too far assuming stuff in fairness I rent. I'll ask Gwen my neighbor what her PPT is. The PPT I pay is on my scooter and my cage ONLY! When I bought the new to me 06 Grand Prix last year I paid I believe 7.25% of 4500 for state sales tax. $326.25. And whatever title transfer cost plus tags plus whatever the license station charged for doing the paperwork. Missouri license stations are run by contractors vetted by the state-well down in this area anywho. I also had to have Proof of insurance Before I could have the tags transferred from the Olds to the Pontiac. The taxes on goods and services do creep upward but Not like tax increases in other areas of the country. Reason I mention Illinois is my Brother and my S I L still reside there my S I L still has her Law Practice there and Ross and Bonnie have given me an idea how Steep their taxes are. It's pouring rain as I post this but later on I'll post the figures I believe I have in the cage about tag cost and the license station costs. I KNOW tagging my vehicles cost less now here in Missouri then tagging them in Illinois in the 70s! RIDE SAFE.

Gathered some figures for anyone interested. My neighbor across the street has a 12 Ford escape and a 92 Ford 1/2 ton pickup. Her PPT this year was $103.24 Her taxes on her house were right at $100.00 for the year. The 12 Escape accounted for $97.00 of her tax bill.
Friend of mine lives in Douglas county which is the next county west of Howell county and he has 80 acres 1 car 2 pickup trucks 2 M/Cs 4 farm tractors and his entire tax bill is $1300.00 for the year. And a nice house with an attached 2 car garage.
I bought my 06 Pontiac Sept of 18 and I paid $9.00 for insp $48.50 registration agent fee of $7.00 tag reissuance fee of $3.36 title fee of $8.50 agent fee of $2.50 state tax of$169.00 and local tax of $127.48! The state tax local tax reissuance fee and title fee are all One time charges. In sept of 20 I'll need another insp-tag renewal and pay the agent fee again. So less than $65.00 I'll be able to tag the car for two more years here in Missouri. RIDE SAFE.
