I bought my Black 98 Valkyrie Tourer from Black Mountain Cycles in Dahlonega Georgia in July 0f 2013 with 47, 081 miles on the odometer. The title listed the previous owner as Patrick Hanlon. The bike was being sold on consignment. The bike has Ultimate Seats, Ricoh Driving Lights, and a Black Mutazu DB Trunk. It also a had a crack in the front side of the right saddlebag that had been repaired on the inside with the crack still visible on the outside. I absolutely love this bike, have no regrets what so ever in buying it. I made an offer and it was accepted. I drove down from Indiana and trailered it home. Over the years I have corrected a number of problems, many to be expected anytime you buy a used vehicle. The bike is excellent now. I have enjoyed riding it for many years. My question concerns how many miles it might actually have on it. Mileage is something that you do not really worry about but I just want to know.
The bike has been registered in the following states:
Tennessee in 01/28/04 mileage 20,000
Texas in 09/29/08 mileage exempt
Georgia in 04/17/10 mileage unknown
The name on the last title was Patrick Hanlon.
I was told that Patrick's brother actually rode the bike and rode it a lot.
It is now registered in Indiana
I did find out that if you are selling a bike in Texas that is at least 10 years, you do not have to list the mileage, the mileage on the title can be listed as Exempt.
Currently the bike has 90,000 miles although it could be 190,000.
It makes no difference to me as it is a Valkyrie. I would just like to know the history.
