cooldude I have to say that I'm really Thankful to fellow Valk brother and friend Jeff McKay/ Flsix.  Wink He took time out of his day on Wednesday to check out a bike I saw on CL near his home. Jeff looked it over good, rode it and gave me a great report on what he thought. So I bought it. I talked to the owner tonight and I will own a Beautiful Yellow / Black F6B.  Shocked I can't wait to have it in my garage.  Roll Eyes
Jeff Thank you for your report and I'll keep you in the know. I will have to get rid of one of my Valk's though. But an early Christmas present for me.  smitten

Congratulations on your newest purchase, Farside.  Hopefully it will bring you years of enjoyment.  And like Jack said, we need pictures.  Without pictures, it never happened.   Smiley

Hot dang....there goes Big Bird!  Grin  Great looking ride Keith, I've been tossing around the idea of making that move myself but in black. Would be a 20 year jump in technology which can't be a bad idea.

My favorite color combo for a F6b. I have to take one for a test ride to see if it would be a good fit.

I think they're good looking bikes and am sure they're smooth and fast!

Congrats on the new ride and give us a ride report once you've had a chance to take her through her paces.

This beautiful bike was delivered to me on Thursday but the rain kept it in the garage all day Friday. But this morning was just purfect to get her out for some fun. I put in about 200 miles today with Jeff and my cousin John on this awesome bike. I'm so happy smitten with my purchase. I don't know why I waited so long to get one, Very pleased  coolsmiley

Keith, it's been many years since I've ridden a bike with a frame mount fairing so was wondering....did you have any trouble adapting?  When the fairing doesn't move with the wheel, it sometimes creates an unexpected visual issue for the rider. I know when I got my '92 Wing years ago it took a while to be comfy
on it, mostly in turns.

Jeff, it came right to the house and I looked it over and it was just as you described.  smitten

John, I really surprised myself as to adapting to this frame mount fairing. I've never been behind one but I'm not out on the NC twisty's  Shocked  maybe a little glad for that but I felt really confident on ours up this way. It soon didn't even cross my mind as I thought it would. Good question.  coolsmiley

I rode a frame mount fairing for 18 years.  Structurally, they are superior to fork mount as the weight is carried better on the frame, with less weight maneuvering the bars (and no sailboat forces on the bars either).  The transition to the Valk IS was no big deal though.  An experienced rider can steer his way through all turns with either mount with no issues (all fairings block some visibility close-in).  I think the biggest issue is the headlamp at night; on a frame mount fairing, the headlight is always a bit behind the turn (minimized with dual lights).  Still not a big deal, and my night riding has been minimal for years anyway.

Too many drunks, deer, bugs, and old eyes.

The visual of a million bugs all homing in on your headlight and shield is mesmerizing (like white line fever).
