{A Season For Giving
Reflecting On the Meaning of The Mission
I just returned from a wonderful trip where I witnessed, for the first time in history, veterans' wreaths being placed on the graves of every American hero at the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial. The lives touched by those lives given were demonstrated not only by Americans laying wreaths but also from people that had traveled from all over Europe to participate.
This was the second year we have been able to carry the Wreaths Across America mission overseas. On both occasions, I have felt incredibly fortunate to have witnessed the sight of so many coming together and saying the names of those American heroes, and on returning home I can not help but reflect that they were never able to. If you would like to witness, first-hand, the meaning of this mission, we would be honored if would join us as a volunteer for National Wreaths Across America Day on December 14, 2019.
Every wreath sponsored takes a similar journey that begins in Maine and ends with an American hero being honored for the sacrifices that provide our freedoms and, indeed, the pursuit and protection of freedom around the world. If you have not yet had an opportunity to sponsor a wreath this year, please consider doing so now.
You are an important part of the journey, from the first wreath laid at Arlington National Cemetery over 25 years ago to the most recent wreath laid this past weekend in the Netherlands.
I cannot thank you enough for remembering America's heroes wherever they may rest by supporting our mission to remember, honor, and teach. My very best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season!
With gratitude,
Wayne Hanson

The above excerpted message was from an email sent out to encourage participation in this annual honoring.
Please consider sponsoring of a wreath in decoration of a veteran who may otherwise go unrecognized on December 14th. The website gives lists of states whose cemeteries participate in the project.
Thank you.
