I have both pairs. great gloves. uninsulated are good to 90+F and down to 60F. insulated about 40F to about 80F.
they are on sale right now 30% off.

also have one of the rugs. well worth the money.
I have zero connection with the company, just satisfied customer.

only deerskin gloves I have to compare are a pair of dress gloves somebody gave me.  the Bison is very tough, some say more than cowhide but much softer, insulates and breaths much better than cowhide.
they are stiff when new but break in very quickly and get better with usage.
I have a pair of elk skin also, is a little warmer in colder weather than the bison but the elk start getting how about 80F whereas the bison can get to 95F with lower humidity.

I used elkskin ropers from riderwearhouse.com for years... a year or two ago
I started riding in these light weight goatskin gloves that I got
from Amazon for working around the house... the lightweight
goatskin gloves hold up to handling truckloads of gravel... the thick
elkskin gloves are relegated to winter now...

goatskin is good.

I've been using these hardy gloves when the temps and humidity outdo the bison gloves.

Goatskin is fantastic leather.  Had it in track spikes and gloves.

Had it in my old LL Bean WWII flight jacket since college, until the dang thing shrunk in the closet and I gave it to my wife.
