Think it snuck up on a lot of us. We went from brown to white a week and a half ago. Now starting to get in to shoveling mode. Though first one was a bit much with lots of wind and blowing snow. Normally it comes down pretty straight here, thought I a gone back to Wyoming for a few minutes.

just glad so far we did not get hardly piddly amounts vs. way up north in WI and MI, MN, etc. them getting in some spots 24 inches or so in one snowfall. I guess some towns up there cannot even get the plows out to clear the roads so some homebound am sure. I have driven in 18 inches of fresh snow was able to make it doing 30 mph or so but not fun nor safe especially back in the day with a rear wheel drive car, but made it just barely though. Unless good ground clearance and 4wd like a truck/suv, not sure I would venture with 24 or more inches of snow unplowed? If I was way up north, I would be buying a snowmobile as my basic means of transportation and even then might get stuck am sure.

Mike,
Ummm, I hear ya, dude... but I'm just not able to 'see myself' there... I do love your corner of the continent, and I've made some really fond memories wandering around up there, too... However, while I may wear white after Labor Day, I will not venture very far north after the early Fall... Frankly, a Florida Boy on two wheels has no business at all any place where the risk of frozen road surface is a legitimate threat... Because I want to ride year-round, I stay well south during that part of the year...
That said, I understand living up there! I have spent two winters in cold weather with snow, etc., and I do realize it has its own beauty and appeal... Nothing that might replace year round riding for this fellow, however, so... Hope you enjoy the season, perhaps are even able to squeeze in a ride or two, and that we get to see you again... much later on...
Thanks for checking in, sharing photos of a spectacular area, and contributing to the 'environment' that appeals so much to so many of us! We appreciate ya, dude!!!
