Ride Report East Tx

Me on my Valk, my son on his high dollar Harley, and his buddy on a Harley got in a 430 mile ride in east Tx yesterday. Beautiful weather. My wife was raised in Pineland Tx and she needed some paperwork from courthouse in Hemphill Tx. Left Tomball 6:30am 47 degrees stopped 90 miles later and ate breakfast in Onalaska at Jerrys cafe, good breakfast place when riding in that area, and hit Hemphill at 12:10 ........10 minutes after they closed for lunch from 12-1......ha. went across the street from the courthouse to a pizza place. Great pizza.........dry county.......no beer.ha Went out hyway 190 thru Jasper and came back thru Nacogdoches to Crockett to Huntsville to home......shortly after dark.

I'll say this.......those Harleys with that 6th gear can cruise. I lead to Hemphill.....they led coming back. They liked to cruise 80-to 85. My Valk will do that.......I don't like running that fast. I'm a 5 mph over the speed limit kind of rider . I'm 69 and want my Valk to last the rest of my riding days. Cruising at 85 I feel like I'm pushing my Valk a little hard. I can't help but wonder why Honda didn't put a 6th gear in there....the engine could handle it.

Anyways.....great weather....good food.... good ride.
