What type of service?

I'm on cable with no problems.

Except an occasional Winsock link gets corrupted.

Cable, but my connection says it's good, but I can't connect to anything else  either once it happens.

Okay, sounds like mine.

I just reboot and it is good till I leave it
set for a large length of time.

Do you get a diagnosis panel?

If so click on the link and see what is says.
