Check out the "Great" photos in this thread!

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,95886.0.html

So where are the photos now?

I can't see them on my computer.  tickedoff

Maybe they were taken down by the OP. but it appears the site doesn't exist anymore.
I was using "tiny pic" for this site, it was super easy but they are no longer in existence either. "Onedrive" formerly "Skydrive" my photos have vanished.  Sad

I've said it before and I'll say it again........there's got to be a way to uploading from one's computer!!! I know.......Our server isn't big enough. Why? I know ........Costs money.
Don't get me wrong, I love this site and want it to remain but I believe this is one very good reason so many go to FB.

So.......where are we hosting photo's these days?

T-man, you made the same mistake others have made. Whatever you want to post always load it from the computer, that way you never lose something. Rob is right, use Postimages.org. Once you load it from the computer it's basically 3 clicks and it's on the VRCC forum....and it's free. Let me know if you want instructions cuz it's quite easy...I can do it.  Wink

I host them myself on my web server I pay for. And they were first on my computer and still are so the web server is only one place they exist.  And I'll point out - ya get what ya pay for.  If it's free - you didn't pay and you have no recourse when it vanishes. Also everything I do on the computer has multiple backups.  Not gonna lose data other than something that might get missed in between BU's.  Try to minimize that vulnerability.  If I post a pic here - it's not gonna be 404'd.

FB has much deeper pockets than the VRCC.  It would be cost prohibitive for us to implement direct uploading.  As others have suggested PostImage is currently the easiest hosting site.  Keep photos on your computer, so you don't lose them if the site goes away.  I've actually uploaded on FB and used that photo link to post here... it works, but it's a very long URL.

https://postimages.org/

Create an account using the SIGN UP box top right.

Create a new gallery by clicking on the box towards the top left

Upload photos. Do a max of 4 at a time or it can take too long.

Once uploaded put your cursor on the image you want to put on the VRCC forum

Now move your cursor to the symbol to left of the trash bin symbol
Click on it
Now copy the "Hotlink" for forums.

Now go to the VRCC post you want the photo to appear in and right click and paste.

Once you then post your comment the photo should appear for all to see.

Thanks folk!

It's not that I lost my pics as they are on my computer. The hosting sites are the problem....at least for me. Onedrive via the computer my pics are gone. Via my phone, they are still there on Onedrive. How can that be?

Anyway, I think for me it may be easier to tell my story on the Volusia forum and then post a link here for those who may be interested to look at it.

I can't stand going to old threads to reference something and the pics are gone!

EDIT: What a moron I am!!  uglystupid2

Just tried to open an account on "Post Image" and found out I already had one. All my photo's from "Tiny Pic" are there already. I forgot that I had transferred them over from "Tiny Pic" when they had notified me of their shutting down.

This getting old thing sucks!!

Just for grins - small annual fee, works great, no complaints.
I figure since I am paying for the service, they wont pull a PhotoBucket job.....
