But did he hit anybody? Mark, a ton of the Photobucket shots did not come through (much). Merry Christmas to you buddy. Not even the broadside of a barn door. I'm working on the Photobucket problem. I did the subscription thing and they're still watermarking the photos. I've emailed their help desk about it. Merry Christmas to you also.

If you are riding and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

The British musket, (the Brown Bess), was 75 caliber and they used a 69 caliber ball. The French musket (the Charleyville), supplied to the Americans, was 69 caliber and fired a 65 caliber ball. They were long barreled ( about 42 inches) and could mount a long triangular shaped bayonet on the barrel.
There are no "sights" on those muskets, you point and shoot and best not have your eyes too close to the powder when it goes off lol
I am holding a 75 caliber brown bess in the photo, a very long gun indeed

They didn't even practice aimed fire in those days with those muskets.
They practiced a very detailed reloading drill and mass volley at short range. Most guys probably closed their eyes because of the flintlock flash pan. Eye protection was not a thing back then either.
After 2 or 3 shots, then it was a lot of charging and bayoneting.

Concrete, WA Combining my two favorite passions... riding and fly fishing... Madison River, WY There was so much to see in SD and surrounding areas during our very first Inzane in 2015. Americans do national monuments well... we were very impressed with Mt Rushmore seeing it up close and personal for the first time.
