Course it was in the back of my truck.... Wink
1977 Honda 550K, 40k miles, lots of patina, guy I got it from bobbed the fenders & painted them black. I got the original chrome fenders, exhaust, seat, blinkers, and 6 boxes of new & used parts. He cut down a seat and did it over so it looks right with the bobbed rear fender. She’s a cross between original and sorta cafe/custom.
Thinking it’ll be my back & forth to work ride. Seller warned me it ain’t a cross country bike. Told him no worries there, I got one of those already!
The seller is getting married and needed the $$$, but I promised to give him first crack at buying it back if I sell it.

My brother had one in Green, 1975.  I took my large CC license on it. Long time ago.

My second bike was a CB 550. Fun bike and a nice upgrade for me from my 360. Should make a nice go to work bike. My hope is to run across an equally nice early CB 750.

Thanks all, I was on the fence about another bike, might have another medical hurdle coming up. Then I saw a meme with the worlds most interesting man, he said “Life is short, buy the bike”. I took that as a sign hahaha
Guy I got it from put a clutch in, and changed every oil seal he could, new magneto, he said Mickey had been at the wires so he re-wired the whole bike.

Rick, it’s got plenty of patina, but hey it’s almost 43 years old.

F6john, he’s got a 750 too, NOT for sale. It’s odd to see a 30 yr. old guy so into old Hondas.

Thanks Bob, hard work for sure!

don't you just hate it when they follow you home like that all by themselves?   Grin

If I buy anything and come home with it wife says I am the one leaving and pretty sure she is serious on that one and I agree I have enough need to sell, sell, sell...  no more buying good deals for no room at all even with 2 kids that left the house..... Cry   one bedroom is empty but cannot put a toy in the house, or can you?  Roll Eyes

This pic is from about 1976-77. Extended forks, rear shock drop brackets, extended handlebars and kick stand.

I really wanted to have a wider Harley rear rim laced in like the 750 big boys did but the bike would be sold before it ever happened. I still have the invoice where I purchased it, just a little over $1,200.00.

Cool find Craig  cooldude

I had one of those back in the late 70's.

Typical Honda, ran great and gave me no issues.

The 1977 vintage of that bike is THE one to get with the swept exhaust system.
Restored and taken care of they are quite the item to have in your stable. They are a good investment!

Hey Craig, that looks like a nice find and a fun ride.   cooldude

I also want to congratulate you on looking so trimmed down.

I had a 79 CB750K, and after storage for two tours in the Middle East, the real nice 4 into 4 upswept exhaust had rotted out.  I wanted to stay stock, but when I saw the OE price tag, I took the parts man's advice and replaced them with a 4 into 1 header like yours (which also blued right out).  It dropped a bunch of weight and performed and sounded better.

Remember to check all those spokes for snugness.

And have fun.   Smiley
