Anybody in the myrtle beach sc area that can do the job at a reasonable price?

Tried the red plastic shim thingy 3 times.  It stops leaking for a while but always starts again.

thx

tricks I've used.

add some power steering stop leak to the fork fluid. I also pulled down the fork leg cap and wrapped the tube up against the seal with a piece of felt saturated with the stop leak and then reinstalled cap.
also I loosened the fork clamp one side at a time just enough to allow rotating the upper fork tube 180 degrees, re-tighten fork clamps to spec. both sides if both are leaking.

my forks haven't leaked since.

So I did the felt thing with the 180 degree tube rotation but I couldn't get the fork tube cap off.  It turned about 10 turns then just kept clicking and wouldn't unscrew any more.  What did I do wrong?
Is the lock nut holding it somehow?  Am I a Dingus or what?

you have to loosen the top clamp bolts, then the cap will loosen. check the manual, rods are connected to the caps.
do u have the manual?

You had it up on lift and rod was holding it down … lower the bike down slowly on the front wheel and watch the caps raise up off tubes. Never hold the rods down while you remove caps, just have a small amount of pressure on the front wheel, but not much or the cap will jump up hard.

So I did the felt thing with the 180 degree tube rotation but I couldn't get the fork tube cap off.  It turned about 10 turns then just kept clicking and wouldn't unscrew any more.  What did I do wrong?
