He was a little too PC and unwilling to offend for my tastes.....

(And I think he'd approve of the joke...)

I always enjoyed listening to him whether I was in agreement with what he was saying or not.

Growing up on the Jersey Shore Imus’ show was a huge hit when I was a kid in the late ‘70’s early ‘80’s. Had a lot of laughs listening to his show which was when much of his content had to be “laid between the lines” so not get flagged by FCC. It’s a shame he’s remembered for one incident and not all the good he did for kids through his charity work. His show laid the ground work for so many other radio stations and DJ’s just like George Carlin did for stand up comedians. Don Imus was the Don Rickles of radio, he made fun of everyone equally.

good analogy

could not make blazing saddles today

Too many get their panties in a bunch

Yet at the Oscars a standing ovation when DeNiro says F Trump

Was not my favorite DJ   Liked cousin brucie myself as  just wanted to hear music but IMUS was sometimes really on target and funny  not raunchy like Howard or opie and anthony (who I also sometimes listened to)

Me too, since 2015 when we got our first car with sat radio. It’s my wife’s car so I’m not in it all that much but I always go to 60’s on 6 because my wife always has it set to 70’s and 80’s music.

Imus was funny, but as far as favorite DJ went, when I discovered music aka rock n roll, the best station in our area with the best reception was WNEW 102.7 out of NY and the best DJ was “The Professor” Scott “Scottso” Muni. He did the best interviews with the best artists, played great songs and boy did he know his music. Scottso was cool.
