Lucy outlived her brothers by a couple years. She had stopped eating and drinking water saturday morning, and her breathing was extremely labored. We went on a road trip to drop off some christmas goodies, and when we got home, she was in rigor mortis already.

This leaves us Bean...

Losing a good friend and companion (of any species) around the holidays brings sadness to one's heart.
Via con Dios, Lucy.  I have learned over many years that they are sentient beings whose spirits are here to give we humans a better chance at being happy.
Rest easy and at peace. angel  Carry on, Bean. smitten

Our 2 previous cats mom and daughter lived to be 21 and 22 years old. Unfortunately my wife and kids brought another kitten home, then another kitten showed up at our house. So now we have a 3 year old cat and a 2 year old cat. All of this after I told them I don't want any more cats. Was tired of the litter box. I cut a hole in our bedroom wall and installed a cat door to the garage where I built a wood frame wire cage that holds the litter boxes and the cats can't  roam the garage. Now their stink is isolated to the garage and it gets cleaned daily. That was the deal if they want to keep the cats. I am not a cat fan but everyone else is. They leave me alone and I leave them alone.
