I watched an old rerun of the series "Heartland". In this episode, there was a guy working on rebuilding a wrecked bike. When he finally pushed it out of the shop, lo and behold, it was a beautiful black Norton Commando. That is the first bike I had after many years of trying to talk my parents into letting me get my own bike.  Mine was a '72. The last year for the 750 before producing the 850.  I like to think of myself as a lover of a well made, refined machine. It was. The icing on the cake  was when I bought  my '97 purple and white pearl Valkyrie. It is the smoothest and most powerful bike I have ever owned.  Refined, yes but is capable of doing anything I ask her to do. At 68 years of age I doubt I find another bike as refined as these two. In fact I'm not looking, just enjoying. Come on spring!
