Yes, I rode today.

That wicked storm that caused so much harm elsewhere came thru here like a runaway freight train.

When I got up at 6 (late, and it was a weekend) the wind was howling and the rain falling sideways. The dog would not go out.

By 745 the rain itself stopped and radar app showed the rain would be out of Danbury CT by 9am,  the time I would hopefully get there for the January NE Valk riders breakfast at the Blue Colony Diner off exit 10 of 84

At 8:15 when I was AOB the wind was pretty stiff but I was looking forward to 2 days in a row on the Valkyrie and headed up to the gas station at 133 for a few gallons  (3.09 a gallon wow, but as I got to Millwood I saw 3.48)  holly molly !!

I took 100 up along the reservoir (this would be the 20 miles that back up behind the Croton Dam) all the way to 35 then made a right to meet up 684.  That is 3 lanes each way 65 speed limit so I settled in with light traffic at 70ish all the way north to 84

At 84 someone turned on that dang wind again and I was gettin blown around pretty good, the leaves flying across the road ahead my indicator of which way the gust would hit.

Right on time I got off at exit 10 and saw gas 2.69 but did not need any and found I was the only motorcycle there. In fact I saw no bikes on the way up and only 1 on the way home at 1030.

Dan-Bury, Larry Ponte and his wife and 4 other people at breakfast, and I was the only one who still owns a Valk. Dan-Bury has a wing and might also have an old valk that doesnt run.   Nobody else rode to breakfast even though 3 of them live real close and there was no rain.
WTF?

I put down $ but was told Larry picked up the breakfast tab Thanks Larry and he made me take the $ back.  OK for a fella now riding Harleys again !

On the way home the wind picked up again and I decided that once home I would take the car to Mom's to do her chores.  Did not feel like crossing that 3 mile long TZ Bridge with the high wind warning today.

The wind died down by noon so my bad, but 2 hrs on the bike today,
I will take that in January any time

Will try to post a pic later to this thread.

I was going to today but at the tail end of a steenkin cold my brain is still a little blurry around the edges so I decided discretion was the better part of valor.

That wind blew through here yesterday evening (with some rain).

It was a freight train.  I was looking for funnels.

Each time I think all the deadwood is finally out of my trees, I am wrong; it rained down in chunks.

I rode yesterday and today too (65-70*) (not far, but nice).  The windows in the house open for two days, in January.

I got a big mess to clean up...... some other time.
