Too bad you could not get out this weekend.  We talked about that 18 degree ride to Marcus Dairy
over breakfast yesterday with the New England crew

So true. I think I've written here before about riding through the countryside in the midwest and stopping to chat with a farmer....kind of an "over the fence" thing. He was working in the field and I stopped to literally smell that old familiar smell of fresh mown hay he was cutting. As he made the turn near where I had parked, he stopped and came to the fence. We chatted for some time, shook hands and parted. Salt of the earth type. Another even involved a lady hanging up clothes in the yard...don't recall the reason for stopping. I ended up having a meal with her and her husband before continuing on. This type of thing has happened a number of times over the years, all great people in my eyes.  cooldude

When I first read this thread, I thought about all the fine folks who are other riders
that I have met... but I have met and talked to people incidentally while I was on
the road too... I remember one fellow I met on a backroad in North Georgia who reminded me
of JJ Cale, and JJ Cale's songs, too... it was before the stock market crash in 2008, he was fabricating mantles and
stuff from the heartwood of cedar trees for "rich people's houses", and talking about
the crazy amount of money they'd pay for his stuff. One story he told me as about
a "long legged" woman he'd met back when he had an xyzzy Honda of some sort.
He sold the Honda for $500 and he and the girl went off to Florida together until
the money ran out... this was obviously back before the money would run out
before the end of the first day  coolsmiley ...

Prior to my Valkyrie I've met and ridden with lotsa good people. Since my Valkyrie I've met and ridden and made Friends with lotsa good people here who just happen fer the most part to also ride a Valkyrie.  2funny For a M/C Not even being built anymore I've met a Very diverse group. And made Friends broken bread with and wept when some of my Friends have departed tis life. Not too shabby fer old guys-well mostly old guys-and a Fine Machine Honda no longer builds. Nuttin carved in stone yet But gonna see bout Asheville this year. RIDE SAFE.
