The Chief Justice of the United States just called for most of the United States Senators to hold up their right hands and lie.
Most of the United States Senators ? As in the Republican majority ?
Both sides. "Impartial justice" has never applied to impeachment or Senate trial although it has never been so completely partial as it has recently been displayed.
It's interesting to me that Representative Pelosi and Representative Schiff repeatedly call for and impartial trial despite that their impeachment was so completely partial that it was adopted without a single vote outside of their own party. In the previous impeachments that has not before happened.
And with bringing in only one fact witness, which was Ambassador Sondlund. And when finally questioned about what President Trump had said to him when Sondlund asked him what he wanted from Zelensky Trump stated I want nothing. No quid pro quo. I want nothing. Tell him to do the right thing ( as in clean up the corruption that Zelensky promised he would which is what he ran on. There were a few disgruntled diplomats and career bureaucrats that were not happy that they did not get to make policy towards the Ukraine anymore. Apparently these deep state operatives did not get the memo that the President dictates state policy. Go figure. Never before has a President been impeached simply because the party in power in the Congress just hates the President so much. This was warned about by Hamilton and others in the Federalist papers, and it was something they never wanted to see, that was to just remove a President because you could.
