Just bought a new helmet and need to ask the community about methods to secure.  If it had traditional D rings, I would simply strap it down with a cable gun lock, but this one has a ratchet strap.  I guess I could run the gun lock cable thru the face shield around the chin bar but it might not be long enough, and I would not want to scratch it up.

I never worried about this before, but the Schuberth was a bit spendy, and I might eventually add the Sena communication module made for it which would make worry even more about it.  Never had a problem, but just thought I would ask.

I keep a self-coiling bicycle cable lock in my saddlebag for locking helmets.  The cable goes through the luggage rack, then through the helmets' visor opening, around the chin bar.  I have one helmet over the backrest pad or on the passenger seat, and the other helmet on top of the right saddlebag.  I remove the Cardo Scala Rider communicator units from the helmets whenever I lock the helmets.

If I can't fit mine in the trunk of my Interstate, then I carry it in with me.....

(Especially since I added the Sena to the mix)

I find it my buckle the strap it makes a nice shopping basket for small items...

You can get the tabs that fit through the wratchet to lock the helmet.  We always put ours in my wife's bike.  If we do leave them out then we put them on the handle bar ends with Lidlox.  But, we always take our comms off and put them in the saddlebags.

In my trunk or in my hand, if I walk away.

My $130 DOT half is a good helmet, and for about 8 years no one wants to steal it sitting on my backrest.

Except a few times, I also took it with with me.  (and I sit to eat to watch the bike, always)

I can afford another one, but if I go out to my bike some day and have no way to ride home I'm gonna be really pissed off.

I can lock it several ways, but don't.

I'm sure this is no help.

We also run a cable lock through the sleeves of our riding jackets if we leave them with the bike..  too many thieves out there

Our new communicators don’t remove from the helmets so I’ll be carrying mine with me.

in the 40+ years I've been riding..
I've never been afraid of leaving my helmet ,gloves, glasses or my custom leather jacket on the bike.

It's never been an issue either.

Ha.. half the time I forget to take the key out.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
