Just as talks of troops drawing down are circulating, my son in law and his Army unit are heading for the
middle east today from Illinois. They will stop off at Ft. Bliss Texas for some intense final instruction and will leave there and won't return home for a year.
He is a dedicated father, husband & soldier and is trained and ready to serve his country. If you are a believer, I ask that you say a prayer for these young soldiers on their way and for those serving over there presently.
Also send a prayer for my daughter, who also served, and granddaughter (15) and son (13) and the families left behind by those serving in harms way.

May GOD wrap his Everlasting arms around your Sons entire unit and keep them safe while training while traveling inbound to the war zone while they are deployed incountry and see them safely back to CONUS after deployment. In Your SONS Precious Name we ask these things. AMEN.

If Ft Bliss can't get you ready, nothing can.

While it is named in honor of LTC William Bliss (1815-1853), a mathematical genius who was the son-in-law of President Zachary Taylor, I bet a lot of troops have felt the name is mighty ironic and humorous.

May he and his unit walk with God in their coming adventure.

Thanks for the prayers & thoughts for our guys and my family. It will mean a lot to my daughter that good folks care & support from all across the country.
Found out a bunch from his former unit at Ft. Carson, Colorado will be deployed along with his unit from Illinois. Don't sound like much of a drawdown to me.
