Well, the ideal national response probably doesn't exist. I did find this article interesting as it does not harp on lockdowns or masking at all. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-08-06/the-ideal-covid-19-response-mix-new-zealand-denmark-and-ugandaVerbatim: The ideal governmental response to Covid-19 would combine the testing policy of New Zealand, the schools policy of Denmark, and the communications strategy of Uganda, according to a study of different countries’ responses. Research by Michael Barber, a former adviser to U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Idris Jala, who did a similar job for Malaysia’s Najib Razak, has looked at how different countries have handled the global pandemic in an effort to help others to learn from the most successful. Among the examples they pick out are New Zealand’s extensive testing, which has seen more than 7,000 tests for each confirmed case, and South Korea’s contact-tracing, which uses data from security cameras and credit card transactions to follow people’s movements. Uganda’s use of radio call-in shows to engage the public in a country with poor internet access is praised, along with Denmark’s successful reopening of schools. But they note that coordination between countries has been poor, especially when compared with the global financial crisis of 2008, when leaders including Britain’s Gordon Brown helped pull together an international response. ‘Homework Assignment’ “For the first time in history, every government on the planet has been set the same homework assignment at the same time,” Barber said in an interview. “That should be a great opportunity for global learning, but there’s surprisingly little going on.” This should be addressed as the world prepares to face the next set of challenges around vaccine distribution and economic rescue packages, he said. And not every solution works everywhere. South Korea’s contact-tracing program is far more invasive than many populations would accept, for example. Though Barber pointed to a successful workaround in Australia, which passed privacy laws to reassure people their data would not be misused. The pair have also attempted to rank every country on how badly it has been affected by Covid-19 and how well it is recovering. Top of the recovery league on Wednesday were Thailand and South Korea. At the bottom were Honduras and the Bahamas. The U.K. was ranked 28th out of 184 countries. The U.S. was at number 131.

a cure being suppressed? the inventor suddenly died from a heart attack. Hmmm?? With COVID-19, "what usually kills the patient is not the virus," explains Dr. Mark DiNubile in my new video. "As the patients get sicker, often the virus is disappearing. It's the over-exuberant, excessive, immune reaction that's destroying the lung." DiNubile was once my brother's student and partner. Now, he speaks for Tom because, several months ago, Tom died of a sudden heart attack. DiNubile will carry on Tom's work. So will I. Suddenly, I'm an investor and on the board of their biotech company, BioAegis, which hopes to give supplemental gelsolin to people with diseases like pneumonia, sepsis and the coronavirus. When we're very sick, gelsolin levels go down, and that often leads to deadly outcomes. But we're not helpless. BioAegis found a way to manufacture extra gelsolin. Now, the company hopes to get the FDA's permission to give some to coronavirus patients. BioAegis already gave the protein to animals infected with pneumonia. They got good results. Animals that would have died, lived. "It also improves what their lungs look like," said DiNubile. Improved lung function should certainly help human coronavirus patients, he adds, "allowing them to get off the respirator, go back home and, hopefully, live a normal life." After BioAegis' successful animal tests, they did safety tests on people, giving hospital patients big doses of gelsolin. The patients did fine. That was expected. Gelsolin is a natural protein, after all. It's already in our blood. https://townhall.com/columnists/johnstossel/2020/04/29/let-people-try-gelsolin-n2567812https://www.niaid.nih.gov/research/gelsolin-levels-covid-19

What a complete crock.... morality pills. How about saltpeter? Are the morality pills the blue or red pills? How about shock collars for antisocial people (in lieu of morality pills)? Unlike the pills, these are proven to work over time. As long as I have a right to hearing before they put one on me. Except at riots....they put one on you right away, and then you get a hearing later (if you've stopped being antisocial).

http://www.shorenewsnetwork.com/2020/08/10/one-democrat-councilwoman-wants-people-to-be-charged-for-murder-for-not-wearing-masks/NASHVILLE, TN – A Nashville Democrat, Councilwoman Sharon Hurt this week called for murder charges against those who refuse to wear face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hurt claims she works for an organization that tries people for murder and attempted murder for not wearing facial coverings. “If they pass the virus, then they are tried for murder or attempted murder,” she said. “This person who may very well pass this virus that’s out in the air because they’re not wearing a mask is basically doing the same thing to someone who contracts it and dies from it.”

Take this with a pinch of salt bigger than a Texan's ego, but: Putin claims Russia has registered the world’s first coronavirus vaccine, says his daughter has taken it “We have received preliminary applications for over 1 billion doses of the vaccine from 20 countries. Along with our foreign partners, we are already prepared to manufacture over 500 million doses of vaccine per year in five countries, and the plan is to ramp-up production capacity even higher,” https://www.cnbc.com/2020/08/11/russia-claims-to-have-registered-first-coronavirus-vaccine.html

Indeed. A while back there were such lawsuits trying to force these poor business (and also many poor community pools) to not only pay for high dollar access stuff, but a complete lift system so obese disabled people could be winched up and over into the pool. Most had to just close the pools. If you are too big and disabled to get in a pool on your own steam, you should just sit in a chair and let someone use the hose on you.
Lawyers that do this for a living are scumbags.
Of course the real cause of much of this crap is Congress, who in an effort to show they are worth what they are paid pass all kinds of laws (or create the EPA and other agencies, which in turn are compelled to produce volumes of new regulations every year to show they are working too), and pass the Americans With Disabilities Act, and the Gas Can Act, and corn in gasoline, and outlaw freon, and many, many others, that simply go too far and do as much damage as good, and drive prices up for everyone.
Defund Congress, don't defund the police.

MY friend owns a restaurant and got hit with one of these lawsuits lucky he had insurance to cover it and actually its so bad that it is the reason they do in offer insurance to cover it. Very much a scam since his restaurant is on ground level and access is more than easy. They actually have handicap go around and see if the restaurant complies

Yup Auckland is in Level 3 lockdown.....although its not total lockdown, thats level 4 3 is pubs cafes etc closed, work from home if you can, OK to go to work if you have minimal contact (tradies etc) non essential shops are online orders (can collect from stores with click & collect)...I am not in Auckland. If you live out of Auckland and work in it your crap out of luck unless you are an essential service, road blocks (easily driven around on back roads if you had too) I hope the source is found ...or it will last longer than the 3 days, miracle its not happened sooner with the gaping holes in there quarantine systems. Business as usual apart from large gatherings are out for us outside of Auckland.......for now It won't go down well if its found to be transmitted from quarantine F/ups ........ especially if forced back into lockdown for the rest of us

Cindy (nickname for PM) can't keep a level playing field, let hundreds through without testing, Grand stands on how we are the tightest borders with only NZ residents allowed in but behind the scenes has let hundreds of others in, more positive tests was going to happen. People fresh into quarantine are mingling with people on there way out, workers & bus drivers at the centers were not tested?? its been pure luck that no-one tested positive in the community in that time, flu season so probably some with it and just didn't test...just the flu attitude Edit to add.......... another 14 positive cases linked to that family

I'll stop wearing a mask at all if that comes to pass. It's utterly stupid to wear one outside of a building not in crowd.
The best way to handle it is - "If you're sick - STAY HOME !!!!"
As it is - I only put one on as I'm walking up to the door, and as soon as I'm outside the door leaving - it comes off !!!

That's great for the sniffles, but what about folks who are positive and asymptomatic? And the ones who test negative today, and get hammered with symptoms tomorrow? They're definitely shedding virus. BTW no mandates, NO TO JOE!

"Forced Isolation", "COVID Health Centres" "Centralized Quarantine" I tend to fall, at least I think I do, on the less paranoid side of the spectrum, but wow.... This article reads to me like they're trying to get people comfortable with the idea of rounding people up and putting them in concentration camps.
