... If we were Lemmings, most would already be running off the cliff.
We are and we are. At this time we are choosing to damage ourselves significantly as a national population to avoid something that would do a relatively small amount of damage. We do need to do the things we should have been doing all along. We should keep our hands clean by washing and sanitizing. We should learn to keep our hands away from regularly touching our mouths and noses. We should stay out of public gatherings when we are feverish. These measures would have already diminished the impact of our regular flu season.

one step away from martial law Gov. Murphy asks for statewide curfew in New Jersey amid coronavirus outbreak The move comes after Murphy promised “more draconian steps” to fight the virus would be announced in the coming days and weeks during a Sunday radio interview — including a statewide curfew. Gov. Phil Murphy said Monday that New Jerseyans should not leave their homes between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. REALLY?? WHAT IS DIFFERENT THAN DURING THE DAY? REALLY CAN YOU LIE ANY BIGGER? On Sunday, Murphy said he was bothered to learn from friends over the weekend about Asbury Park’s overflowing pubs, not far from his Middletown home. “I saw too many videos last night of packed bars, people passing bottles around, drinking from the same bottle,” the governor told reporters during a telephone briefing Sunday https://www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/03/gov-murphy-asks-for-statewide-curfew-in-new-jersey-amid-coronavirus-outbreak.htmlhttps://www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/03/nj-shuttering-casinos-movie-theaters-and-gyms-because-of-coronavirus.htmlALL DEMOCRAT GOVERNORS In an unprecedented regional decision, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut have ordered all movie theaters, casinos and gyms in their states to close indefinitely beginning 8 p.m. Monday night, March 16, and are placing restrictions on restaurants and bars to fight the spread of the coronavirus. The order will remain “until further notice,” the states’ three governors announced Monday morning. Restaurants and bars in the states can accept dine-in customers until 8 p.m. Monday. But after that, they will be limited to offering takeout and delivery. Dining in will not be allowed for the foreseeable future. All of this is nothing but plans to destroy middle and lower class workers for nov. where they will offer free stuff and state with their plan they will always have a paycheck, etc.

Ya, I guess if I was feeling macho I'd go out for nice meal. Since we've got serious community outbreak here I'll leave that to the more adventurous for now! My friend who works at GVH told me over a week ago that they just aren't ready. THIS is why we do more than just wash our hands, we change our lifestyles for awhile. Maybe too much to ask for some?

pa is a state controlled liquor sales state, we have state stores just for that. as far as wine and beer you can either go to a distributor or some convenience store. some grocery stores sell beer and wine to.

Globally, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the flu kills 290,000 to 650,000 people per year. In 2018 there were some 36,650 traffic fatalities in the U.S. of A. So far there are of COVID-19 some 7,000 fatalities globally. The virus appears to be on the downside of the curve in China. The rest of the world should follow in a month or two. Do I think we should take this threat seriously? Yes. Do I think we are overreacting? Yes. Wahlburgers has notified its customers that it will be closing some of its dine in facilities being available only for take out.

Man oh man. Let me make up this "math" equation. Hope it helps.
Flu + traffic accidents + ER traumas + this novel coronavirus + melanoma + other cancers + lightning strikes + etc. = overcrowding of hospitals, lack of necessary equipment and triage of patients.
In other words, Chinavirus is in addition to this other crap that we so love and accept. And when you consider the deaths are indeed (thankfully) a small percentage of of those requiring hospitalization who do recover after some WEEKS, you may better understand the hospital and medical equipment problem.
I'd hate to need an ICU, and there not be one available. I'd hate to need a respirator and none are around. I would even more hate to see either situation happen to a loved one.
Food for thought.
A burger sounds mighty good indeed. Got lots in the freezer.

I was kind of surprised that Italian Delight (in KCK, 82nd and State) was actually still having dinein customers (I was expecting it to be takeout only).

Oregon has gone the way of other states, yesterday the Governor said as of today all restaurants and bars were closed to dine in. They could sell take outs. Don't eat out that much so not a real problem for us.
Food stores and other business could be still open as of now. Still going to workout till they close that too.
A veteran home in Lebanon (near Portland) lost one of its folks to the Virus and a bunch tested positive. So we do have it here.

https://www.ibtimes.com/trump-put-money-hands-americans-immediately-stem-coronavirus-damage-2941585I'm really iffy on this one. I just lost one hell of a lot more than this. If it helps our country, I'm for it. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Tuesday the economic stimulus package he plans to present to Senate Republicans will include putting cash into the hands of Americans “immediately.”
Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, has suggested giving $1,000 to each American adult. Mnuchin indicated the number could be higher than that but there might be some sort of means testing.
“Obviously someone who makes $1 million doesn’t need a check,” Mnuchin said at the daily coronavirus briefing.

How about just giving us the same health care as Congress and cutting their pay to whatever it was the last time they balanced a budget??
Courts are closed indefinitely. Trader Joe's had a long line outside, so that inside people could keep their distance (WTF?)

Maybe not just geezers and those with other problems. https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-nhs-doctor-warns-we-are-already-at-breaking-point-11958542I want you to know that young people can and do become critically unwell and die from COVID-19. A colleague of mine is currently looking after several patients under the age of 40, all on ventilators. We know from other countries that most of these younger patients will survive. But they will take a long time to recover - often in a hospital. The impact of a sudden influx of coronavirus patients affects all parts of the health system. Last week I looked after an intensive care patient who needed to go to see a specialist in another hospital. The patient was accepted by the specialist, but there was no intensive care bed for him to go to because it is now exclusively for coronavirus patients. Some little kids getting severely ill too. https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/new-data-shows-children-can-get-severely-ill-from-coronavirus-first-known-child-death/news-story/02fbdf91cd35eb08b3156dd3bd89dc38But now the biggest study of coronavirus-infected children to date has found the disease does indeed make some youngsters seriously ill — around 6 per cent — with babies and preschoolers most vulnerable. A teenager confirmed to have the virus died in China on February 7, with details of his case coming to light for the first time via the paper, published online by the American Academy of Paediatrics. In response to the new data, the World Health Organisation acknowledged the teen’s death and the potential of the virus to make some children every sick. https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/not-just-older-people-younger-adults-are-also-getting-coronavirus-n1160416Simply looking at the age ranges of the infected, however, doesn't provide any insights into the severity of the illness. "In Italy, we're seeing a lot of younger adults get very sick," Dr. Peter Hotez, co-director of the Center for Vaccine Development at Texas Children's Hospital and dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, told NBC News. He said that while it's too soon to analyze how the virus will affect the majority of Americans, no matter their age, it's possible people in their 20s and 30s may develop severe illness. In France, health officials said more than half of the country's 300 patients in intensive care units are under 60, The Associated Press reported. https://nypost.com/2020/03/17/coronavirus-doctor-says-lung-scans-for-young-patients-were-nothing-short-of-terrifying/A Belgian doctor working to battle the coronavirus says he’s treated several seriously ill young patients — and their lung scans were “nothing short of terrifying,” according to reports. Dr. Ignace Demeyer, who works at a hospital in Aalst, said an increasing number of people between the ages of 30 and 50 have presented with severe symptoms, despite having “blank medical records” that show no underlying conditions that would make them high-risk, the Brussels Times reported. “They just walk in, but they are terribly affected by the virus,” Demeyer told the Belgian broadcaster VRT. He said CT scans indicated they were suffering from severe lung damage. “The images we took yesterday are nothing short of terrifying,” the doctor told the station. “They are people who do not smoke, who have no other conditions such as diabetes or heart failure,” Demeyer added. Belgium has reported at least 1,085 COVID-19 cases and at least five deaths since the virus emerged in China in December.

NOT complaining here BUT I already have compromised lungs. What you just reported and from what I've read this covid19 scares the crap outa me. And I also understand the luck of the draw. We've had a Lot of cold wet weather here. Sposed to be a bit drier Friday with mid 50s. I Definitely NEED a ride! I am also aware this chit has too run it's course. RIDE SAFE. Haven't even got in my FROTY. 4-8" of the white stuff coming in tomorrow night.

[/quote] increase your Vitamin A intake. Vit A protects the lungs. best absorbable Vit A is from animal livers, beef/buffalo being the best. Grass fed will be best. Desiccated beef liver pills usually always grass fed and liverwurst are sources, there are grass fed liverwurst available. Always good to add freshly juiced carrot juice and all of the benefits it provides. The vit A is good just not as good as from animal sources. avoid synthetic vit A as much as possible. Vit A palmitate is most commonly used in food products including milk and yogurt. fish livers are another source but hard to fine anything clean. cod liver oil, most on the shelf has synthetic Vit A added back in after they purify it. there are some good ones to get https://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/cod-liver-oil/cod-liver-oil-basics-and-recommendations/another source of vitamin A is eyeballs from fish and animals. God Bless to all.

Fast mover. This graph is from the 15th. Just checked the map. As of now 6,496. NOT GOOD! that's because they have increased the testing. which means many are walking around with the virus and no major health problems except flu, cold like symptoms. They didn't think nothing of it until the govt is making a big deal about it. the deaths have been mainly the elder with health conditions and a few other ages with health conditions. You keep mentioning those who succumb are mainly elders and those with health concerns as if they are trivial and expendable. You say it's only them suffering and dying from this virus. Not only is that not right, it's not true. "There are concerning reports coming out of France and Italy about young people getting very seriously ill," White House coronavirus task force coordinator Deborah Birx said at a White House briefing. Like I said, they're learning new stuff about this virus every day. https://news.trust.org/item/20200318160526-9cre7/Some who "recover" may have permanent lung damage. https://www.sciencealert.com/even-those-who-recover-from-corona-can-be-left-gasping-for-breath-afterwards/amp Everybody is somebody, nobody is nobody.

Talking with a married people here in Maggie valley, NC last night. Both mentioned that back Mid Jan ish they were sick including recovery for about 6 weeks.
This gels with a friend of mine in Clayton who was sick at about the same time for the same period.
Does this prove anything. Doubt it.

Called the new local micky Ds and they informed me dining in is verboten. I can go to the window or order inside and leave but that means I can NOT converse with my friends on Sunday morning before-well now altered Church-and have the nice young Ladies refill our coffee cups. And it means should I go to the golden arches breakfast club be eatin in my car! Which I really try too avoid-eating in my car. This whole danged thing IS raising havoc with the very fabric of some lives. And I heard that Missouri as a State is Recommending groups of no larger than 10 people. Thank goodness fer our electronic club house and the cell phone. And as one of my next door neighbors-Nam Vet-and I generally sign off with phone or in person-PEACE. RIDE SAFE.

I know ifI get waylaid by this commie crap I'm a goner. I have immune deficiencies, heart and GI issues, lung problems. So, yeah, it's going to be a tough row to hoe if this goes on for months playing hide from what I can't see. I'm thinking ride as much as possible with Purell, pistol and Lysol readily available. As said, distancing from friends and loved ones will be the toughest thing. I guess the less of us who get nailed, the better it'll be for all of us. Even globally.

I just finished watching the program on how we dealt with Polio. Took from about 1916 to about 1954. Course at those times we did Not have those big azz main frame computers we have now. Had there been NO Sabin and NO Salk where would we be Right NOW? I looked at the incubation period of this devils spawn that is infecting Our World and near as I can tel the incubation period is 2 to 14 days. Anybody actually KNOW what and where you touched 14 days ago? So my thinkin is we are waiting on Results from our scientific community. I PRAY for a quick fast acting viable vaccine or something to stop this chit in It's tracks? And to eradicate COMPLETELY. RIDE SAFE.
